Product Overview

Summer Crisp' pear tree is a semi dwarf fruit tree, growing only 15 ft. tall. White flowers in spring precede the 4 in. long, sweetly crisp, pear fruit that mature in mid August. The greenish fruits have a reddish blush that eventually changes to a yellowy hue. Adaptable to most soil types, including sandy and clay.

  • A very cold hardy tree developed by the university of minnesota
  • Resistant to fire blight
  • A bushy looking tree with dark green, glossy leaves
  • Tree is grown in a 5 gal. pot and is approximately 4 ft. tall after planting in ground
  • We’re sorry, due to state or federal regulations, this plant cannot be shipped to Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon or Washington
  • Plant ships as a bare root plant with no soil and no pot when shipped to Montana, Nevada and Washington
  • When shipped as a bare root plant, the shake&ship system will be used to remove soil from the roots, thus increasing the root tip surface area, which in turn, greatly enhances the ability of the plant to rapidly establish itself in the new environment
  • To accommodate mature size or when planting in groups, space 15 ft. away from other plants or structures
  • Performs best in plant growing zones 4 to 9, when grown in other zones, special care will be necessary
  • May ship in a dormant state, with bare branches and no leaves, especially in early spring when plant has been pruned back to promote lateral branching

Customer Questions & Answers

What rootstock do these have?

Asked by: Trevor
Hello. The trees are not grafted but rather grow on their own root stock.
