Mine came as a single-trunk tree. See photo attached. Notice the branches start 2/3 up the tree [I read somewhere that a high quality tree will have the tree branches start 1/3 up the tree].

Answer:
Researching this on YouTube they say it blooms in March (in Minnesota) and blooms for only 10 to 12 days [at the most 2 weeks]. My parents thought 1 to 2 months; not so.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. The Redbud tree is approximately 7 ft. tall after planting. Only a small portion of the soil is shaken out, thus the tree is not harmed or stunted in the process. The tree is grown and shipped from Madison, Ohio (zone 5).

Answer:
Thank you for your questions. The mature height listed is the average growth for the tree under normal conditions. It is an accurate estimate for most areas. Depending on the site, the Redbud tree should reach mature size within 7-10 years.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 7 gal. Eastern Redbud Tree We've had it in the ground for about a month. The reviews helped us make a decision and we appreciate all of them. All of the current reviews are true even the less than perfect ratings. I saw a larger specimen with much more interesting character in person at Home Depot for only 25 bucks extra, for 100 but it didn't have as many branches as this one. It would have been impossible to fit into our vehicle so this is a great option. This one is pruned to look like a very standard looking tree. Instructions state it does not need pruning upon delivery. It's very compact as it is. I'm hoping the limbs will spread nicely next year. It arrived with three tiny, thin seed pods attached, proof it flowered. It was delivered very fast. Sorry my photo doesn't do it justice but hopefully you get the idea. September 23, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not as expected This was a nice size tree problem is that the Home Depot description said good for zones 3 thru 7 and the tag on the tree indicated zone 5. I live in zone 4. The online description said multi-stemmed. The tree arrived as a single stem tree. The tree had seed pods and was not sterile. The tree is living out its life in the local land fill and I will not buy a tree online again even if the price is right! July 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome purchase for online! This was an excellent purchase for being online. I was a little hesitant at first because after all it is a tree, but I really wanted this tree and could not transport in my vehicle, so i took a chance. When it arrived i was pleasantly surprised. the tree was packaged extremely well and a very nice size just as they described. Planted that same day using a mixture of peat moss, tree and scrub soil and our own soil, it took off beautifully. May 27, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 7' Tall, 1/2" Diameter (Single) Trunk, Branches At Top 1/3 Of Tree Purchased this 7-gallon Eastern Redbud tree from the Home Depot website. It arrived in about a week [I live in Roseville, Minnesota]. The roots were wrapped in plastic; Most of the dirt was removed from the roots; making it easier to spread the roots out on the ground. The tree stands about 7' tall. The bottom of the trunk measures 1" in diameter; The middle of the trunk measures 1/2" in diameter. The branches started 2/3 up the tree [I read on the internet that a good quality tree will have the branches start 1/3 up the tree]. I pruned the branches soon after planting; I watched many videos on YouTube how to prune new/young trees. I put Miracle Gro Tree And Shrub Spikes in the ground 2' from the tree trunk, but I broke two spikes in half so I had four halves; Then I place each of the halves evenly around the tree [at 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, 9 o'clock for example] about 2" below the top of the soil surface (so the fertilizer is more evenly spread out around the roots). Planting The Tree: I dug a 4' diameter hole; I watched many videos at YouTube on how to plant a tree to learn how. It's been 3 weeks and so far so good. July 1, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by hard to say how it is going to work out... still waiting on the "life" of the tree. this looks like a great product. the dormant stage is a long process that will take its time. Hope all turns out well later in the next few months. March 27, 2012
