Can I set the thermostat to maintain a max temp of 60 degrees F ?

Does the temperature control (thermostat) knob display a temperature gradation, allowing me to set it to a specified temperature of, say, 60 degrees. The heater is intended for a small greenhouse that has a volume of a mere 112 cubic feet. I want to maintain a relatively constant night time temperature of 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Answer:
The thermostat has no calibration! You can turn on the heater until your desired temperature has been reached, then turn the thermostat down slowly until the heater clicks off. The heater will maintain the temperature you have fixed.

Answer:
I have a similar unit and both the heater element and fan kick off when temperature is reached. I'm assuming this one would do the same and wouldn't just blow cold air around willy nilly.

Answer:
Assuming it's in a space that is within its heating capacity, I think the hottest temperature provided would be beyond comfortable. I have a similar model and when I turned it all the way up, it just kept getting warmer and warmer until I became uncomfortable and had to turn it down. So....to answer your question, I don't know how hot it gets because it was too hot for me. Sorry for being useless.

No it doesn't release carbon monoxide, as carbon monoxide is a by product of combustion, and this unit is electric with nothing burning. Unless the curtains happen to get sucked in... Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best small fan w/heater This is my 2nd purchase of the fan...my boss loved to borrow it from my office, I ended up buying another one for me again! Keeps you cool AND warm whenever needed and very portable as well. Does a great job! September 14, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Portable Heater Simple to use. Its what I was looking for. No problems so far, haven't used it for very long at all. Seems like a good deal. I like the safety feature...it turns off if it is knocked over. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Buy Haven't used but a few times but it works great. The compact size is perfect for under my desk, and I like the heating and cooling options. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good job This is one of the few heaters/fans on the market that has fall protection - which is required by my office for any office heaters. It is efficient in cooling on fan mode and in heating when on heat mode. I have purchased before and have lost my heaters - when I wanted the same product, I was glad HD had it in stock. May 18, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Worked for 4 Months, then Stopped Working I bought this to discreetly use under my cube at work. It worked very well (I kept it on the low setting) for the past 4 months. However, now when I try turning it on, the light will come on but none of the functions work - fan, low heat, or high heat. It is still under warranty so I looked into that - Optimus charges you the shipping both ways to send it in for repair. With how cheap this heater was in the first place, it makes more sense to just buy a new one. I will be purchasing another brand for my next desk space heater and hoping it lasts longer than 4 months. I didn't even use this everyday! Probably about 1-2x a week for no more than 7 hours each use. Disappointing.. March 23, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little heater for my office Purchased this heater to *discreetly* place under my desk at work. I keep it on the low setting about mid thermostat and it keeps my office nice and toasty---along with it being fairly quiet. The anti-tip protector works nicely as well. I have yet to have to even set it on the high setting because the low setting puts off sufficient heat; although I did try the high setting at home prior to taking it there and it will definitely cut the chill from a decent sized room (our old house can be pretty drafty on super cold days and it helped). For the price--this is a great purchase! January 16, 2016
