Customer Questions & Answers

I'm going to repair an existing sprinkler head.

I already have the sprinkler head.... I plan on using a 1/2'" x 12" flex riser screwed into a 1/2" to straight 1/2" coupling that I will glue onto the existing 1/2" cpvc tubing to complete the repair. The question I have is can I use pain old "rain or shine" pvc cenent {that I alreay have) or will I need to buy some cpcvc cement to use instead since I"ll be terminating to cpvc pipe?
Asked by: Dave
Howdy Dave, Yes you can use PVC primer and PVC cement to connect the flex riser fittings. Happy gluing, Coach Dave

Customer Reviews

1/2 in. x 12 in. Flex Riser is rated 1.7 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks!!! Poor design. Tried two of them.. both leaked. and that is with almost zero PSI...just trickle leakage at a sprinkler head feed, and it still caused this to leak. It was not leaking where I screwed it into the PVC T - It seeps out the upper edge of its own fitting ... good idea just poor design.. I needed to move the sprinkler head over and up a few inches.. ended up using the flex PVC, cuttoff riser and assoc fittings..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage Do not use these. Once they are buried for a while, the plastic inner tubing will detach from the bottom fitting, causing a major flood and requiring you to dig up the area to replace it. I cannot stress enough how bad these are. Every single one I purchased have failed. Just don't do it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is not reliable! This flex riser is a great idea and could have potential. However, the faulty design and cheap manufacturing makes this product a failure. Installed half a dozen and all leaked, even returned them - went to another store, bought new ones, and upon running test they all failed again. This would have saved the project lots of time but it ended up wasting much more time then if we had made some custom product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks like crazy, don't use this I agree with all the other review. This is a useless hose the way it is designed. It leaks like crazy. Yes it seals under pressure (sometimes) but then leaks when not under pressure. This leads to lots of air in your lines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised Read the other reviews about leaking so I was a little worried. I used Teflon tape on the threads and turned the water. No leaks. When the water is turned off they unseat and then leak but I think that was the intent of the design. Much like automatic drains, these will let the water drain and protect your system from freezing. I like them.
