I have a 4.62GPM flow rate. These sprinkler heads only cover about 8 feet radius maximum with the valves open all the way. Can the coverage be increased or change the sprinkler heads to a different model. I was looking to cover 10 to 12 feet radius. I am only running 3 sprinkler heads per valve. Thanks
Asked by: Timewarpone
Timewarpone, having the flow rate is very helpful, but we'd also need to know your water pressure before being able to make confident recommendations. Our test lab data shows that this 54243 sprinkler will water out to a 12’ radius at 20 PSI, but each full-pattern nozzle also requires 2.5 GPM each at 20 PSI, so your water capacity of 4.62 GPM would appear to be inadequate to pressurize the system up to a flowing pressure of 20 PSI at 7.5 GPM (which is what it would take to water with three 54243 heads). We have a 10’ full-pattern nozzle (53861) that will water out to a radius of 10 feet at 20 PSI, consuming 1.4 GPM per nozzle. This would allow for a line of 3 sprinkler heads that is under your 4.62 GPM flow capacity, so this is something that you could perhaps try first. Again, though, we won't make any actual recommendations without knowing your water pressure first. Please call our Support team at 1-800-488-6156, and we'd be happy to help in any way we can. Thanks!

Accessories?

I am wondering what are the recommended accessories for this sprinkler head. I.E, diameter of pipe, etc.. I would like to set up a simple one head system at my house and have no experience in this area and would like to know what I would need to run a line from the water connection the sprinkler head.

What do you expect the pressure to be for a 5.5GPM flow rate?

I realize that you may not have data for that specific point. If it is available, could you provide any data points for flow rate vs. pressure. Thanks for the help.
Asked by: Tom
Tom, a flow rate of 5.5 GPM would require a pretty high amount of pressure. What we can tell you, however, is that a typical household (40 PSI) results in a flow rate of 3.4 GPM. For reference as well, water pressures of 30 and 35 PSI would result in a water flow rate of 3.0 and 3.2 GPM, respectively. If you have further questions, though, we'd be happy to help in any way we can. You can reach our Support team at 1-800-488-6156. Thanks!

2 in. Full Pattern Spring Loaded Pop-Up Sprinkler with Brass Nozzle is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.

You can adjust the spray distance. There is a screw at the top and all you need is a flat head screw driver. You can dial down the distance to about a 2 or 3 foot radius if need be. The brass top is a real plus. Don't have to worry about damaging the nozzle with your lawn mower.
