I absolutely hate myself for just driving to Home Depot this afternoon and buying another one of these sprinklers! So why did I do it? Because I really like the sprinkler, the patterns are a perfect match for my yard, big areas and tiny areas and it MISTS FLOWER BEDS REALLY WELL! B U T, and that is a big B U T, it isn't made very well, this is my THIRD one, the other two broke, one just quit going back and forth and the other literally exploded just above the setting rings and shot a stream of water 15 feet into the air which I didn't notice for over an hour, flooding my flower bed, plastic pieces were lying all around the spike. Yes, they leak a bit, they don't last very long, they feel a bit fragile and getting a look inside one (an opportunity afforded me by the one that exploded) I see a SUPER SKINNY plastic pin that actuates the back and forth that looks like it would break in a stiff wind. "IF" this sprinkler were better thought out, made entirely of brass, and cost $100, I would likely buy it, I like it that much. But as-is, it is too expensive to be this fragile and un-reliable. We'll see how my third one holds up, three in less than two seasons. So, there ya go..;

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HappyCamper Excellent Reasonably Priced Sprinkler
Have used multiple sprinklers over the years - for those without an in-ground system, this may be the best reasonably priced sprinkler around.

Purchased this gear drive sprinkler in a pinch when our secondary water was turned off because of an algae outbreak and we could not use our automated sprinkler system. I was hopeful the gear drive sprinkler would be powerful enough to at least water our most dire areas. It was not as powerful as I had hoped it to be and ended up having to purchase a different sprinkler.

This purchase was to replace a two year old unit of similar style , long tripod legs but the same head. The older unit had good coverage but tended to overspray the desired area and was rather light so it took a long time to deep soak the lawn adequately. It is being replaced as the gears appear stuck and no longer sweeps across the desired pattern. Kinda lame for two years old.

Worked ok for a few weeks but had to be adjusted over and over. Finally the head popped off and I saw in my yard. Only had it about 7 months. Won't buy this brand again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chance The QUIET One
First one acquired had a serious leak issue. Alrighty then, replaced and voila, the replacement works charmingly, quietly and surprisingly well. Hits all spots or zones asked of it. Henceforth, the 4-star rating. Otherwise, 5-star!!

I have only used it a few times but it has worked very well for me. The various options take the guessing out of how I should orient the springs so that I can get the sprinkler set just right. The range is awesome! I bought two and may go get another one.
A good product so far.
