Customer Questions & Answers

Where are O-rings used?

Possibly a stupid question: where/how do you use the O-rings? Do you put them in the female connector of a hose like the washers? Or do they go on the outside of the male end? Or...?
Asked by: Vic
I use as it as washer when my faucet nut is a bit deeper that needs ticker washer.

will o rings fit Blue Hawk hose reel cart model LHR002

Asked by: Rich
Rich, the LHR002 seems to be a hose reel cart, and doesn't include a hose. That said, three of the most common washers are included in this pack. Most 3/4" hose washers are compatible with most 3/4" product and hose. Please contact our Support team at 1-800-488-6156 if you have further questions, and we'd be happy to help in any way we can. Thanks!

Saw a big jump in my water bill last couple of months, and discovered that both outdoor faucets needed hew whose washers. Not sure what the O-Rings are used for, but I will find out after a little more research. The last hose washers I bought from Home Depot lasted for 10+ years, so I know they're a great value.

They come in mighty handy when you lose one, or if your hose or sprayer is leaking...this is usually the culprit. Nice to have some extra on hand. Good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rubber washers are great, but what are the o-rings for? The rubber washers are the best I've found to use in my garden hoses. All others I've used have been too small to form a good seal. I will agree with the other reviewer that the o-rings are a waste. If I use them with the washers the connection leaks, and if I use them by themselves the connection leaks. The washers alone are the only things that work for me. I wouldn't give them a bad review though because I assume they are probably used for a different type of hose. I just wish Home Depot would sell the washers alone. I checked the Orbit website and it seems that they offer them that way, but HD just doesn't carry them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced all of my gaskets This spring, when putting out my hoses and sprayers, I had to replace all of my gaskets, flat rubber washers and O rings, with new ones since they were all leaking. I got this package and was able to replace them all quickly and easily. In response to other complaints about leaking, they don't leak. Not at all. As with any type of rubber washer, you shouldn't clamp down really hard on them. As to fit, they fit snug. You have to push them into place all the way around, but once you do, they lit flat. Perhaps some instructions should be included for people who don't know how to install gaskets in a garden hose. I like these much better than the plastic ones with little tabs around the sides.
