Does this box come with a lock and a key? It's not stated in the description or specifications section. I see that it comes with a latch to shut the door but nothing about a locking mechanism or key. Thank you.

What size conduit hub fits into the left bottom hole (for the power)?

I bought a 1/2" conduit hub insulated throat and I had to really screw it into the hole to get it to fit. Unfortunately, while I can screw it in inside my house, when I'm outside, I don't have room to screw it in since I have to screw it onto the pipe that holds the electrical wire. Do 3/8" conduit hub insulated throat exist?

Thanks for sharing that a 3/8" size probably doesn't exist. The part I am talking about is called (in the Home Depot website) a Model #91631 1/2 in. Rigid Water-Tight Conduit Hub. The problem with the 1/2" is it did not fit well into the left most hole. When I used pliers to "screw" it in, I finally got it in, but keep in mind, there are no threads. The hole on this box is slightly too small. I didn't Read More

But I do want to comment that I think the hole on this box is slightly too small. Read Less

Answer:
SAS1401, it sound like you're talking about a throat bushing or just a hub/connector. A ½” male end should fit in that hole, but we are unaware of any 3/8" (by any brand) in the market. As ever, please feel free to contact our Support team at 1-800-488-6156 if you any other questions at all, and we'd love to help. Thanks!

Answer:
This would work if you are using one of our indoor timers outdoors. The outdoor timers all come with a weather proof, locking box, so no need for this in addition (also, most of them would not fit within this box). Obviously, this timer box does not include a timer. Unless you already have an indoor timer, it would be less expensive to purchase an outdoor timer than the indoor timer along with this box.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Orbit 57095 I needed to replace my old irrigation controller. I had to purchase this outdoor timer box. Although not the boxes fault, my controller would not align with any mounting holes, drilled new ones without issue. The power in 3/4 " conduit was bigger than the boxes hole, filed it out to make it fit. Also the 3/4" pipe for holding the controller wires had to be modified to fit. Not a big problem. Mounting to the wall, with 4 screws inserts, box had holes, but after reading the instructions, you are supposed to only use 3 ??. Got the electrical in, connected to the GFCI plug and tried to mount it, only to discover that the mounting holes are different offset so that it only goes in one way?? This means the socket orientation is opposite of normal install, ground on bottom. The power supply for my controller had to use the upper set of contacts because of this and the power leads just had minimum clearance to the bottom of the case. The locking mechanism has to be installed before you mount it to the wall, there is no clearance to do it afterwards. I had to remove the box mounting screws to do this and then remount it. As a homeowner, I hopefully only have to do this once, experienced installers probably leaned the lesson may installs ago. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best utility box for multiple usage and sprinkler systems The box was very easy to install and can be used for variety of enclosure applications. I used it as housing for a transformer on a sprinkler system. It accepted conduit of various sizes with ease. Good product thus far. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Box Well constructed box. Plenty of space for sprinkler. Don't forget to pick up conduit bushings or other fittings for the wiring. The openings are a little sharp. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Needed to move timer Needed to move my timer to a more convenient position which was outside. This box was perfect. My Toro timer fit the mounting template inside the box. I was able to mount it on the side of my shed (see pictures). Having the outlet in it made it convenient and gave me another power outlet on that side of my back yard. Was able to run power and valve wires though back of box. Was also able to install a rain sensor with this installation. August 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly What I Needed Purchased this enclosure to house my deck stereo setup. This houses a small stereo amp, Apple Airport Express, and remote switch (Globe Electric 2-Outlet Wireless Outdoor Remote Control - Model # 78901 Internet # 205711773 - Home Depot). Allows me to keep the deck equipment separate from the house stereo, but with Airplay I can still play the same music inside and on deck simultaneously or play independently. I mounted on the side of my deck as access isn't necessary (power controlled by the remote fob and volume can be controlled by iPhone/iPad/iTunes). While not concerned about theft, as it's mounted in an inconspicuous location, the lock on it is nice. We've had many storms this spring and when I've checked all equipment is still dry. The amp was only $20-ish on Amzn so not to worried if doesn't hold up for years (but I hope it does). May 18, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job quite nicely! I replaced timer with integrated outdoor box with am Internet connected timer and it needed an environmental housing. This did the trick. Only note I would add for the installation is to remove the gfci inside the box as there is a wall screw mount beneath it for a total of four. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Keeps your outdoor wiriing dry I used this box for my outdoor 12-volt lighting switch box and it works great. It comes with a built in plug and two open holes for wires. I removed the plug and plastic insert so I could fit my switches inside. You can seal the holes with plastic plugs and tape to seal out most of the water. December 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent outdoor utility box Not using for it's intended purpose, but also makes for a perfect project box. It has a GFI receptacle and a tray for attaching your timer. You can mount items above and below making it an excellent hobby box as well. The lock is an added bonus, would be easy to break in, but just a simple stay out is usually enough. Have bough many and Home Depot pricing is better than Amazon. March 10, 2015
