The timer is set up for 6 or less zones only. Other timers let you plug in additional modules that allow to add more zones.

Hi Jon,
Unfortunately the maximum number of zones for this unit is 6. Any additional zones will require an additional timer.

Answer:
My previous controller was installed in the garage, so I simply disconnected and connected. I will say this controller does not appear to be "weatherproof" in any way. Had it for a few months now...very easy to install, but then again, I simply disconnected and reconnected existing wiring.

Answer:
Thanks for the question. The following are recommendations for the timer:
-The timer should not be exposed to the weather or operated at temperatures
below 32° or above 113° Fahrenheit. (0° c + 45° c).
-Installation works best inside a garage or protected area. The Timer
should not be mounted outdoors.

Ray..have you tried resetting the unit to factory defaults and then programming? Also most timers have two programs (A and B). You might have programmed one accidently and the unit is running both programs.

Super-6 Controller with Remote is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orbit Controller with Remote I'm not sure why Home Depot doesn't stock this item in their stores. It's a great controller and the remote control is the greatest part. No more running back and forth to the controller when testing/adjusting sprinklers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good Installed it at the end of the season, so I haven't put it through its paces fully. Works well. Takes a bit to get used to the programming style, but is flexible enough for most people. Having the remote is nice. Are there better programmers? yes. This is a good buy and a good price. Time will tell on the quality of the unit Take the time to read the manual for the programming methods, Not as flexible as other timers, but should be fine for a basic system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good buy The unit works good, however the 6th zone on mine does not turn off after auto run has finished. Maybe mine has a defect. Easy to set up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't buy this model if you need a master valve feature to control a pump In years gone by, a master valve control was built into sprinkler timers. So I assumed that this timer would come with this feature built in as well. Not true. There was no information in the specifications and/or the description to suggest it did or did not have this feature. So, I assumed it had this feature as my old timer had. Well, I learned the hard way that Orbit and/or Home Depot do not include information on this feature when describing the their products. Another model from Orbit did have this feature, but again this feature is not mentioned in the description/specifications and/or packaging. So, make sure when dealing with Orbit products you know what you are buying. May need to go to Orbit customer support on the web before purchasing. If I had done this, I would have saved grief and money (had to pay for return shipping myself) and time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the best This timer has a very small liquid cristal screen which is very difficult to read in a dark garage. This unit is shipped without any batteries and any mounting hardware. Programming is somewhat combersom because two available programs are not identical - have different timing options. Having a holder for a remote is a nice feature, however the remote itself has limited functionality: while most people will use it for system testing and tuning, time choices are 2, 10, and 30 min. Fortunately, there is a stop button. The timer came faulty. It was a good idea to do all the testing before installation as the timer responded to the remote only one time out of 5-8 attemps at the close range. I spent hours for the testing checking my batteries, pressing a reset button on the unit - it was just bad. I returned the timer to the store but did not want to test my luck again with this unit and spent about 23 dollars more for a much better Orbit model 28566 at another store since Home Depot did not carry it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the remote feature! Without question I am totally satisfied with this Orbit controller! I bought it to replace my old existing controller that i had "forever" due to the fact it stopped working. The remote feature makes it easier for me to make adjustments in my sprinkler heads without having to go back and forth to my controller. To me, it's an excellent product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value, remote is terrific. Great timer and value and features. The remote is the best feature and works well all around the house. I only rated good because the display is a little small, however the convience of the remote far out weighs the negative. Make sure you use a new 9 v battery in the remote, a weak bat at first remote did not work. A new battery and programming the remote as per manual, easy, works great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to setup and use The house i bought had 5 independent timed stations for watering my yard. I didn't want to go to each of the 5 stations and turn them on and off when I wanted to do additional watering. And also, they were battery operated so I would need to replace the battery and set the time and everything again. I got this so that I can have all my sprinkler valves in one line and then one spot to turn them on and off. It is nice because it has a remote which allows me to turn on the sprinklers from within my house. There are 2 draw backs that I have to this system. 1) The remote does not have a 5 minute window for watering, it is set at: 2, 10, 30, and 60 minutes. And 2) you setup a start time for all the sprinklers to go, and then the duration for each zone. So if you set the start time at 6:00 am, and a duration of 5 minutes for each zone (with 5 zones) then the each zone will turn on and off in a row, and all zones would be done watering at about 6:25 am. You can't say, i want zone 5 to only run 3 times a week.
