Customer Questions & Answers

I need to order a part, is there a parts catalog on line?

The plastic T where the sprinkler arms go into hit a tree, and snap one of the arms off. I would like to order this part as I really like this sprinkler. I purchased it about 2 years ago from Lowes in Stockton, CA.
Asked by: Buddy
Not that I can find. Other people have not been able to find a manual online. Suggest you take the remaining arm or the broken plastic 'T' to Lowes (where you bought it) and hope they have replacement parts for it. If Lowes doesn't have any replacement parts, you might try Ace Hardware. I've found they carry lots of parts.

manual for orbit traverler sprinkler

I need a part on the hose contention where can I find a manual so I can ask for correct part or parts?
Asked by: Doctor
I don't know. I can't find one and other people have said that they can't find one. Try taking it back to the store where you purchased it and ask for some help "finding the correct part(s)". I estimate that asking them to repair something simple would cost about 1/3 of the cost of a new one. If they don't have the correct part, then use the phone book or the internet and call/check around to find someone who does have spare parts.

Asked by: UJ
UJ, that is an excellent question. At 15 PSI, the sprinkler would move slowly and only spray a few feet. The higher the pressure, the faster (and more far-reaching spray) your sprinkler will attain. If you have further questions beyond that, our recommendation is that you contact our Support team at 1-800-488-6156. Thanks!

Customer Reviews

Traveling Cast Iron Sprinkler is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total waste of money At over $65 and made out of cast iron, you would expect it to last forever, however it has cheap plastic wheels that degraded in less than a year. It also does not have enough pull to drag even 20' of hose as it travels. It constantly gets stuck or hung up, and falls off the hose track. Conclusion: You can get about as much watering diameter from a stationary sprinkler that cost much less.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Orbit Traveling Cast Iron Sprinkler was ordered online. The sprinkler seemed to be very well... The Orbit Traveling Cast Iron Sprinkler was ordered online. The sprinkler seemed to be very well constructed and certainly heavy enough. Apparently our well water pressure was not forceful enough to propel the traveling sprinkler around our yard so we returned to our local Home Depot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Orbit traveling sprinkler I have owned two Orbit traveling sprinklers and each quit traveling after 3 years. I tried all three different options on the back (High, Neutral, Low). It does NOT travel on any of the three options. I assume that the plastic gears have stripped or broke. When it works it does a great job, but I bought this type sprinkler because of a big back yard to avoid having to set up and move sprinklers. I still have the box that it came in and its says the sprinkler is guaranteed for six years!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont buy this! If you want a product that lasts just over a year, this is the one for you. The plastic gears that drive this sprinkler break after minimal use (even when unit is stored in shed between use). This has happened to my friend as well, who bought the same unit a few months before I bought mine. The gears cannot be replaced without buying the entire gearbox, which after shipping, is over half the cost of this entire sprinkler.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable This product works great for a very short time. Mine lasted less than a year. The internal gears strip with minimal use. Until they use metal gears like the National Walking Sprinkler company does, avoid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware! I have tried 4 different units over the past six weeks. All but one has failed so far. I am using 200' of 5/8" hose with each sprinkler to water a very large lawn. The units work great initially, but after a few sprinkler sets, the gears in the transmission strip out. I plan to try a different brand, probably Nelson.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Workded Great Until it Broke! It does a great job, I can water small area's and large with a simple adjustment. However it broke after owning it for less than 4 months! It now leaks so much water it can’t hold water pressure so it automatically turns off :( not very impressed.
