This product works great for a very short time. Mine lasted less than a year. The internal gears strip with minimal use. Until they use metal gears like the National Walking Sprinkler company does, avoid.

I bought mine at the beginning of the 2013 season, and the plastic spinner piece is a little flimsy, but if you avoid manhandling the sprinkler, it won't have any problems. I'm sure that if I slammed the arms on the ground when I picked it up or set it down that it would cause problems, but I recognize that and simply take care of it. I lift it with two hands or arrange the arms so that they don't hit the ground when I lift it.
As a caution, heed the warning in the instructions about making sure the hose is straight for at least 2 feet before and after the stop-hump or the tractor won't be turned off and it'll keep going until you find it somewhere across the yard pushing against a wall/fence/tree digging a hole in the ground.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this sprinkler. The only thing that would make it better is to have a water "on-timer" attached to the hose that would almost make it a fully automated sprinkler.

If you want a product that lasts just over a year, this is the one for you. The plastic gears that drive this sprinkler break after minimal use (even when unit is stored in shed between use). This has happened to my friend as well, who bought the same unit a few months before I bought mine. The gears cannot be replaced without buying the entire gearbox, which after shipping, is over half the cost of this entire sprinkler.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KD84 Great for Corner Lots!
I live on a corner lot and was moving our sprinkler to about 4 different spots, now I don't have to! It's great and works at two different speeds. For my corner lot I use about 150feet of hose and it takes about 3 hours to water on the "low" setting. You can also do a "high" setting where it will travel faster or a "neutral" setting where it will stay in place. It was very easy to put together, took me about 2 minutes.

I have tried 4 different units over the past six weeks. All but one has failed so far. I am using 200' of 5/8" hose with each sprinkler to water a very large lawn. The units work great initially, but after a few sprinkler sets, the gears in the transmission strip out. I plan to try a different brand, probably Nelson.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ATM12 Workded Great Until it Broke!
It does a great job, I can water small area's and large with a simple adjustment. However it broke after owning it for less than 4 months! It now leaks so much water it can’t hold water pressure so it automatically turns off :( not very impressed.

This is a wonderful product, while it lasts. We've had three over the last four years or so. Each of them have lasted around a year, at which time they strip out the cheap plastic drive gears on the inside. This time we've tried to find a replacement gear box with no success. While it works, it does put down a customizable amount of water, the adjustment of the arms and the dual speed settings make it easy to set the amount of water you put down. Just don't expect it to last for years!

I am on my third "Transmission" in three years. Orbit keeps sending me a replacement transmission. If they would stop using plastic gears-it would be much ore durable. Without a receipt Home Depot will not take back. It does a great job of sprinkling out to 30' radius & follows the hose most of the time. I use it where I have not installed sprinkler system yet.
