I have owned two Orbit traveling sprinklers and each quit traveling after 3 years. I tried all three different options on the back (High, Neutral, Low). It does NOT travel on any of the three options. I assume that the plastic gears have stripped or broke. When it works it does a great job, but I bought this type sprinkler because of a big back yard to avoid having to set up and move sprinklers. I still have the box that it came in and its says the sprinkler is guaranteed for six years!

At over $65 and made out of cast iron, you would expect it to last forever,
however it has cheap plastic wheels that degraded in less than a year.
It also does not have enough pull to drag even 20' of hose as it travels.
It constantly gets stuck or hung up, and falls off the hose track.
Conclusion: You can get about as much watering diameter from
a stationary sprinkler that cost much less.

I have had traveling sprinklers in the past and this one does the job just as before.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Laura Exactly what I wanted
I bought mine at the beginning of the 2013 season, and the plastic spinner piece is a little flimsy, but if you avoid manhandling the sprinkler, it won't have any problems. I'm sure that if I slammed the arms on the ground when I picked it up or set it down that it would cause problems, but I recognize that and simply take care of it. I lift it with two hands or arrange the arms so that they don't hit the ground when I lift it.
As a caution, heed the warning in the instructions about making sure the hose is straight for at least 2 feet before and after the stop-hump or the tractor won't be turned off and it'll keep going until you find it somewhere across the yard pushing against a wall/fence/tree digging a hole in the ground.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this sprinkler. The only thing that would make it better is to have a water "on-timer" attached to the hose that would almost make it a fully automated sprinkler.

This need a high pressure to make it move and spray like it shows on pics. Not a good value if using a well for water

Thank you "JBART" and "SPRINKLERDEMON". I'm in the same fix as you two are. Mine also has plastic gears and the entire box that holds the working parts is plastic! I was going to take it apart (not easy) and replace or fix the broken part(s). I was having problems just getting it apart and thought I could get the manual to explain what did what and where. If the manual is not (easily) available then that explains why it has cheap plastic parts. Then the store can charge you again for repairing it (probably over and over). "Doesn't work long - can't be repaired by owner - has cheap plastic parts". Though I noticed it cost almost exactly the same as the other cast iron traveling sprinklers.
I can't mention who made it or the model number, because there is not a single word anywhere on the sprinkler. Seems to me that if a company made a quality product, they would be proud to stamp their company name all over it. They didn't and it isn't.

This sprinkler travels all over out large front yard with 150 feet of hose dragging behind it...does a thorough job of watering all the while with a slow forward motion that is very relaxing to watch!
