The coupling is a simple way to shut off water supply. However, the value arm breaks off easily and I go through several coupling a year as it is not repairable.

I could not get a good connection from the end of the hose to the water spout on the house. This solved the leaking problem that I had.

The shut-off coupling fits my circumstance for use in the garden in conjunction with several soaker hoses. It allow me to cut off the water supply and re-attach to a soaker hose without walking 150 feet to the main shut-off. Perfect addition to my garden watering system.

Shut off valve knob breaks off very easily. Should have been made out of metal instead of plastic. This is really a piece of garbage..

The coupling serves as a quick shut-off for my lawn sprinkler's connection to the hose. I use it regularly.

This shut-off is very helpfull. No more walking back to the hose bib to shut off the water between use while working. I prefer this to the plastic version.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dasvin Steer clear of using....cannot take cold...will split if temps drop
Had this connected to my outside spigot. Temps dropped and the part failed (just under a year). Walls around the ball split and water poured out for what looks like a day or so. Contacted Orbit Customer Service and they were all nice about listening to my problem. Shipped them the failed valve and got a letter saying they are not liable for a failure from freezing. Website has no warnings about removing the part if temps are freezing. It is advertised as an outdoor valve and that is it. The 30+ year old brass spigot is still there and has never split but this did. Walls are very thin. Part is plated so walls are even thinner. Anyway despite the fact that there are no freeze warnings, Orbit has denied my request to pay for the water that I lost and is now short in responses and seems not to want to hear anything on the matter. Steer clear. Part is cheaply made. Will continue to try to recuperate the water cost. Am an engineer and can definitely say the part is not made to last and will not take any sort of freezing. Had I seen any verbiage stating or even implying this, would not have purchased.
