Customer Questions & Answers

What is the difference in the H78 and G78 chains? Can the H78 chain be use instead of the G78?

My chainsaw is a Craftsman model 358.350200 20" saw. the manufacturer shows the replacement chain as pt# 20BPX078G which I take is a G78 chain. I purchased a H78 chain that seems to be working good. The G78 was not in stock. I am happy with the way the G78 cuts. I just don't want to tear up the saw if there is any difference on the way it runs around the sprocket and bar.
Asked by: Jason98765
The specs look similar. The H78 and G78 are both .20", .050" gauge, .325" pitch, .with 78 links. The Oregon packaging lists different brand applications, but the specs look the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREat cutting machine This is the easiest starting, most powerful chainsaw that I have ever owned. it is a machine that requires the operator to wear full face protection because of the speed and force of the sawdust generated. I cut through 22" chunks of beechnut wood in less than a MINUTE.
