Yes. This is a strong insecticide and kills virtually any flying insect. It claims to 'encase' the insects.

Yes! This stuff kills hornets, wasps, Red Wasps, yellow jackets, even Carpenter Bees! I have used it all of these insects with great results.

I went to my mail box and was attacked by some pretty angry bees. I headed up to the HD for the usual liquid spray that I always buy, until my buddy pointed this out to me. I took it home and was honestly a bit skeptical, but wow this stuff is just awsome. I stood about 7 feet from the nest and nailed them with the spray. It comes out in a very controlled l8ne, but expands like shaving cream around the nest. This is great because it actually traps the bees in the nest so they can't come back out and attack you. there was absolutely no chemical smell, and when I came back out 5o clean the bix, all the foam disappeared! I can honestly say that this is the only wasp killer I will ever buy again. Not only does it trap them, it kills on contact. Thanks for a great product.

Ortho Brand insecticides are the best. I have used them for years. The Hornet and Wasp killer spray lives up to the Ortho brand. The jet spray reaches approximately 20 feet providing a safe distance for killing hornets and wasps. We had a problem with Red Wasps last year nesting under the eaves of the house. This product was perfect for controlling them. It is rather foamy which helps stop/kill the wasp instantly. The residue that remains kills other wasps and hornets that contact it. Contains no CFCs that deplete the ozone.

I have huge colonies of wasps living under the eaves of my roof, as well as in many of my outdoor lamps. I used another wasp spray previously this summer, and while it certainly killed wasps, it wasn't that pleasant to use. Not only did it send wasps flying everywhere if I didn't hit them just right, but it also had a terrible odor and left an oily residue.
This Ortho product is far superior in nearly every possible way. It truly kills on contact, and due to the foaming action, stays in place on the spot you aim it. That's great for knocking out a nest, and also means you don't have poison dripping and spraying everywhere. Furthermore, I noticed absolutely no noxious odor from this spray, at least from within a safe distance.
Now, there is one drawback to this spray versus other brands, and that is range. This one advertises 20 feet, while others advertise 27-30 feet. There's no doubt that Ortho's range is shorter, and it probably isn't really close to 20 feet, as the bulk of the spray will fall earlier than that. This is the trade-off for spraying a foam, which is practically a solid. There's no way it's going to go as far.
If you truly need the range, for instance to hit high up in a tree where a ladder won't reach, Ortho won't work, but if the wasps are within reach, or if you can use a ladder to reach them (such as on a roof), this product is definitely the one to buy. And frankly, I expected it to be more expensive than the competition due to its preferable qualities, but in fact it's cheaper!

This 16 oz. Hornet and Wasp Killer Aerosol shoots a stream at least 20 feet so you can fairly easily spray individual insects or a nest from a safe distance. I used it on wasps and a wasp nest under my siding trip. It 'immediately' knocks down individual insects and kills them. It sure makes eradicating a nest easy and safe. If you have this issue, I recommend this product.

I love Ortho Hornet and Wasp Killer. I live in an area that has a lot of wasps in the spring and they try to nest just about everywhere. Ortho has provided me with a line of defense from these pesky wasps. This product allows you to stand several feet away from the nest so you are not in danger of wasp retaliation. To use the product, simply aim and fire. Ortho drops 'em dead quicker and more effectively than any other brand I have used. Also, there is a substantial amount of product in each can. I have used two cans of a generic brand to get the same results as one can of Ortho. Great product! Pay a little more and get the results that only Ortho can provide.

I confess I've used several cans of this product lately in the process of repairing a damaged roof. There was one big whammer jammer wasp nest inside the roof and near the chimney. There was some damaged wood and they got in areas not easily accessed. And they were aggressive creatures. The beauty of this product is you can stand on the ground and knock down the guards then spray into the holes. With a 20 foot reach it gets inside the areas well and has good coverage. Plus there is a residual affect so wasps not immediately killed go back to the nest and are poisoned for an additional week. Working on the roof just go a whole lot easier! Thanks Otho!

This product was something to behold, it shot out a foam instead of a jet stream like other products, it reminded me of shaving cream. It killed the insects upon contact almost like drowning them in the foam. Within a few minutes the foam dispersed into more of a liquid.
The range of the spray falls somewhat short of other wasp sprays 20' as opposed to 25-27' but there is less mist that can be blown back onto you on a breezy day. It's always a good idea to use a mask for those reasons alone.
This product would be good inside your sheds, garages, barns, and inside other outbuildings.

This is a fairly typical wasp and hornet spray. The effective distance stated on the can is 20 feet, presumably above you as it is written ("Jet spray reaches nests 20 feet above the ground"). I have used it at about 45 degree angles, shooting under my deck from about fifteen feet away.
It can cover the distance, but the aim leaves a little to be desired. It could just be the fact that the foam shows you where you actually sprayed, but I had to really soak an area down because the spray went a little wild and not exactly where I thought I was aiming. The foam is nice though for showing that you have really hit the nest and it lingers for several minutes (I hope soaking in and getting rid of the other wasps). Since I had to use more than I would have expected, the can certainly seems to feel lighter than I would have hoped after having used it only two or three times.
It did a great job of killing the wasps living under my deck. The spray / foam did not stain my deck, any lumber or the vinyl siding on my house. I was concerned that it might, but after returning to check the area it was completely clean and showed no signs of having been soaked down with the spray.
