This season I noticed that nutsedge had taken up residence in my lawn. It would stick high above the rest of the grass literally hours after it was mowed. Last year I purchased a concentrated Ortho product to deal with clover and it did nothing so I was a little hesitant to pull the trigger here. I decided to give it a try. It couldn't be easier to apply. I expected to see SOME results within a day or so. Nothing. After about a week, I noticed some browning of the sedge and 2 weeks later there is significant browning. It even seems to be working on the clover that I had no luck with last year. In addition to the ready-to-spray version, I bought the smaller spray bottle which I soon realized would not be an efficient way to apply considering the amount of sedge I had. Interestingly, the ready-to-spray version seems to be more effective.
In the course of researching treatment options I see that "SedgeHammer" has great reviews. I purchased that as well and applied to some sedge in the backyard for an A/B comparison. I only applied that a week ago and haven't seen much browning. Guess I'll need to give that more time to see its effectiveness as well.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Don’t use on centipede grass, even with plenty of watering
Followed the directions to a tee, weeds still there but grass is brown. You can see a clear line where I sprayed and my neighbor’s yard, we both have centipede grass and his is green and mine is brown (and it rained this week twice). A few weeds have brown/yellow at the base but the other overall weeds seem to be growing with no problem after 5 days of treatment.

So for 3 years I had the lawn that looked like it grew in spots overnight after a cutting. My mailman said I had nutgrass. So I research it and its not grass but a weed.....this season I was sick looking at the high grass. I did online research and found Ortho Nutsedge. I tried it in 3 areas and waited .....BOOM!!! the stuff turned brown by the 3rd day and after 3 weeks it never grew back. I purchased a few more bottles to finish the property. I had to treat 5/8 of an acre and the spray with hose system was great!! Easy to use and it did not kill my real grass. It killed off some other weeds too -BONUS!!!
Yes by this and stop lookin at your tall green Nut Grass.

I had huge issues with nutsedge growing like crazy on my fescue. I tried pulling them up one by one every day and they kept coming and coming. I did not even know there was a product to treat it until somebody recommended this one to me. I was hesitant since other Otho products had not worked. This thing works like magic. In a couple of days the nutsedge turned yellow and then died. My fescue grass was intact! I just wish it was a little bit cheaper.

I treated the areas of my lawn where the nutsedge was thriving. The product worked as directed and quickly controlled the nutsedge with activity in a day or two and it was gone within a week. I still have some product left, but when I need to buy more, I won't hesitate to buy this product again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BES Killed Oxalis & Violets
This product is easy to use. Was able to spray weedy areas for about 5000 to 6000 square feet with one 32 oz container connected to garden hose. Have had trouble killing Yellow Woodsorrel (also called Oxalis) in the past, and with this product in 2 days it was brown and dying. Temperatures were around 75 F when applied, and my lawn was well watered from rains the week before use. The lawn looks great - no yellowing or other damage. I anticipate doing one more application later this fall to deal with a few areas missed. The Nutsedge is yellowing, but as of this review it is too early to tell if it will be completely dead.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jjones Should be labeled as fescue killer!
I purchased this product for spot weed control in my tall fescue lawn. I followed the instruction exactly and prescribed. Unfortunately, the spay killed every part of my fescue where applied. The only good news was that it also killed the weeds. A small consolation for killing my grass.
NEVER use this product on tall fescue!

The nutsedge in my lawn turned brown on day two after the application with no visible effects on my tall fescue. The hose end sprayer makes it very easy to apply. I treated a 1000 sq ft area, so I only used 6 ounces of this product. This product is 28 times more concentrated than the the ready-to-spray product (1.40% vs. 0.05%).
Savings hint: mix one ounce of this product with 28 ounces of water to make a ready-to-spray solution of 0.05%.
