Answer:
You can not use Ortho GroundClear around any edible plants. We recommend that you do not apply the product any closer than 24 inches from the plant. If you apply the product around any edibles we recommend that any annual plants be destroyed and that you do not harvest any perennial plants for 1 year. If you have any additional questions please call 877-220-3089 for assistance.

Answer:
Do not use Ortho Ground Clear Concentrate on or around ornamentals. Do not apply over root zone of plants. To avoid damage to desirable plants do not apply over their root systems. For shrubs and trees do not apply closer than twice the distance from the trunk to the drip line as roots may be within this area. If on a slope, do not use, run-off may damage or kill plants.

Customer Reviews

GroundClear 1 Gal. Concentrate Vegetation Killer is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 159.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Weed Killer/Preventer This product was used to treat grass and weed from growing around the A/C unit, water and gas meter areas, around my patio as well as the sidewalk and driveway cracks. It worked exactly as directions said. This saved me time and labor trying to keep weeds and grass from growing around these critical areas. If it keeps grass/weeds from growing for 1 year, it will definitely be a real time saver and worth the price. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kills Everything Green Kills everything growing that is green, or near green growth. Very effective but use with caution so that you don't use it near flowers, shrubs, or plants, even near their root zone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Just a few lines to tell about my experience with the Ortho GroundClear Vegetation Killer Concentrate. When the word concentrate is used that is exactly what they mean. With going by the directions I mixed it accordingly and very much to my satisfaction what I had sprayed was dead within a few days. I sprayed a 10ft x 100ft area behind my privacy fence that backs up to woods behind my house. I was totally amazed as to how well it looked after a few days. I don't know how long it will last before I have to do it again but as for now I am a happy camper. Thank You [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a killer!!! I used this product on my driveway, walkway and around the lanai area of my pool. It did a great job killing everything that I sprayed it on. Time will tell if it holds up for 1 year. I will report back in 3 months on the longer term results - if it really prevents weeds for up to a year. I was a little shocked that I had to mix the entire quart of product with just 1 gallon of water. When I've used concentrates of Round-Up, the mixture rate was WAY less than the Ortho. If it keeps weeds from popping up for a year, it will be worth it though. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't last I sprayed our driveway in July on a warm sunny day. The driveway is stones so it makes it easy to know and see any spots missed. It was saturated heavily with a chemical sprayer. Some areas I actually went over them twice. Although it killed the weeds and grass, it didn't last. In August growth came back and now in Sept. the grass is also back along with the weeds in the areas that I sprayed. I know that some weeds might be resistant, but grass?! And yes, it was mixed properly, even a little stronger than necessary, because I hate weeds and grass in the driveway!! I tried sending pictures but couldn't get them to the required size! So, lasting a year, I don't think so!! Can't tell you how disappointed I am in the product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more edging~yippee This product is amazing! It is a concentrate that adds to a gallon of water easily. There was no bad smell and no mess. I poured it along the edge of the grass line and on the weeds/grass growing in the street. I took a before picture. The after picture is one week later and you can definitely tell where the product was applied. I am going to buy some more to put around the house so we don't have to use the weedeater which is painful for my arthritis. I will update with 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 1 year photos. Highly recommended. It seemed a bit pricey but for the time it will save constantly pulling those weeds growing in the cracks and edging it will be worth it! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very effective I used this product around the perimeter of the house where we always seemed to have many different kinds of weeds growing, that were very difficult to eradicate, and within a few days all of them were dead. This product seemed to start working within 24 hours, but definitive results were obvious about 5 days later. This product is supposed to be effective for up to one full year, which means that I do not need to repeat this treatment for a very long time, something that I believe is a big Plus. Rated 5 out of 5 by from GroundClear Is the Perfect Name I can say this stuff works great. I have a shared gravel driveway. I hit my side where I park my work truck. This stuff works for the growing season in NWO, meaning April til October. I will need to spot spray some weeds and grasses, but it is nothing compared to the every couple weeks I used to do. Mix it up in the sprayer and let GroundClear do the work. I hope my picture shows the quality of an easy solution. My neighbor likes weeds. Even so, GroundClear lives up to its name. Check that out!
