Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dave A very sanitary and convenient trap
This trap is designed for a single use. The mouse enters the trap to get to the bait. This triggers the mechanism that traps the mouse. An indicator on the side of the trap shows that a mouse has been trapped rather than the trap being accidentally triggered via sweeping the floor or whatever. No poison is required; just use peanut butter. When the mouse is caught, just dispose of the trap. You never need to touch or even see the mouse.
We set up a pair of these traps (they come two to a package) and caught a mouse the first day and a second mouse the second day.

This is the third time I purchased this brand & type of trap. One trap worked fine; however, the bait was taken from the other two and the traps did NOT close! I can't recommend this product.

Liked the older version you had a little better. You could tell when you had a capture from a distance easier. I will say it's very effective.

I'm not a squirmish female but I hate knowing I have a rodent in my house and having to pick up the dead mouse when using the old fashion traps (eeeewwwww). These traps are great. They're neat, clean, inconspicuous and effective. It clearly shows when you've caught a mouse; just pick up the container and throw it out without having to see what's inside. Perfect

Had the trap set for days with no catch. Set normal snap trap and in 30 minutes got the mouse.

There is a path the mouse goes in my kitchen and i was tried of mr mouse surprising me in the panty. So the trap was set at 2:30p, at 4:15 all i heard a loud snap and mouse squeal and the job was do, no seeing the crime or mice.

i checked out reviews once i'd set the traps and the mouse managed to make off with the bait. i had already been contemplaiting how to get the food arranged in such a way that the mouse has to step further in. Another reviewer indicated that with the smaller mice, smearing peanutbutter somewhere on the top inside of the trap gets the smaller mice to put more weight further down the trap platform. I broke down some granola bar (the previous reviewer used peanut butter) and shook and shuffled the trap sideways and which-ways to get the pieces up in the slats.. worked like a charm. Caught 3 mice within 6 hours of setting the traps.

I have never seen the Tomcat kill and contain mouse trap before. We usually just get the wood old fashioned kind that's nasty & messy & kids & pets are interested in -yuck. I buy ahead so I'll be ready . Since we're in a new neighborhood that was just recently woods , I figure we'll have mice visit us this year.
Tomcat kill and contain mouse trap looks very easy to use with few directions. It's easy to set and the same lever registers "mouse caught" when it's time to throw away. No one plays with it and no adult gets grossed out by emptying it.
We haven't caught a mouse yet but we're ready and not dreading it like usual. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
