Answer:
Because product is absorbed through the weeds foliage we suggest to not mow for 2 day before the application. This allows for good leaf surface for the product to be applied. We want you to be confident in our products, this is why we offer a product guarantee. Customer Reviews

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It works! This review is for the 32oz bottle with hose adapter. I bought it at my local Home Depot. This product worked as advertised. I applied it to my back yard and front yard. However, it did not kill the weeds in the back, only the front. I believe the difference is in the application. The time of application was in the evening at around 7pm, still daylight but not direct sun. I sprayed about a 40 sqft area in my back yard for about 5 minutes, which might have been too quick. Then I sprayed about 200 sqft in the front for about 15-20 minutes, on occasion switching to water only to allow the ground to soak. There is a "water-only" selector on the bottle itself, which I discovered too late and now realize why it is there. The result is that the nutsedge in the front yard became yellow/brown within 24 hours as seen in the picture. The back yard is still the same. According to Ortho, it is against EPA rules to spray more than once a year... I am not going to count a 5 minute application as my yearly application of the backyard, so I will probably try again in a few weeks or try a different spot in case there are delayed results. The only CON, the price for a 32oz bottle at $15 a bottle is too high, in my opinion. Also, 200 sqft is about the max effective area. So I would only consider this product for spot applications only. For anything more than the size of a large bedroom, I would recommend calling a professional or trying another product, because while having to go through numerous bottles you might end up with misapplication problems, such as overlapping areas at different concentrations, and potentially hurting your lawn. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really works very well This is easy to use and amazingly it kills nut grass and ONLY nut grass in about 2-3 days. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Killed All Nutgrass Applied to my bermuda lawn and within 24 hours the nut grass was turning yellow and wilted. After 72 hrs it was looking very sick and after a quick mow, it has not returned. This is in central texas so our nutsedge may be easier to kill than other strains around the country. It didnt even phase my bermuda but I have a bit of tall fescue in shaded areas which got burned a little, but looks like it should bounce back, just a little yellowing. Overall A July 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This KILLED my nutsedge In July, Day 1... At 6pm I sprayed the patches of nutsedge all over my front and backyard during 80 degree weather. 24 hours later, the previously green nutsedge was turning yellow/brown. On Day 3, it rained for 30 minutes, hopefully pushing the poison down into the dirt to kill the bulbs of the nutsedge, and there was more wilting and dying. On Day 5 before mowing the lawn, they were wilting and brown even more. AND this was all during days of 90 degree summer heat.... my grass was hardly damaged; there were two small patches probably where I sprayed a bit too much. On Day 7, after mowing you can barely see the nutsedge that is left. Now to be honest, I had the same results last year, but some still grew back. I guess it'll take a few years to get rid of it all. Good luck! July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great This product killed all the nutsedges in days. The grass turned a little brown but was back to green in a week. July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ortho Nutsedge Killer works great I have had a huge Nutsedge problem in my yard for years - my lawn always looks great in the spring but as soon as the St. Louis heat starts up so did the Nutsedge. Over the years I have tried everything and nothing seemed to work until I found Ortho Nutsedge Killer. This product worked perfectly on my lawn and did not kill the regular grass - (I have a mixture of Tall Fescue / Bluegrass / Zoysia). I have a very large yard and it took a few bottles to get the Nutsedge under control and then a few spot applications as some new areas started to spring up but my yard has never been this free of Nutsedge in over 20 years that I have lived here. I always spray the Nutsedge a few days after I mow, because it is easy to see as it grows so much faster than the regular grass. I then can see it turn brown and die and by the next time I mow it doesn't come back. Hopefully I won't have any new Nutsedge next year but if I do, I know how to get rid of it now. Thank You Ortho for making a product that really works. July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Killed my lawn , nutsedge still growing Used to the direction, has browned or killed my tall fescue, nutsedge still growing. Do not use, use a spot treatment, not a broadcast spray. Just keeps getting worse, after 2 weeks of almost constant rain it just kills more lawn and nutsedge is still present. May 8, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Weed Killer I bought this product to try and kill and stop the spread of weeds in my yard. I live in central Texas and have St Augustine grass for my lawn. I used this product on the whole yard and, after a week it looked like i just feed all the weeds is is suppose to kill! I will plan on try to get my money back for wasting my time!! I have resorted to trying and pull the weeds by hand!! I am in the process of finding a product that can produce what is says it can!! I would not recommend this product at lest for St Augustine lawns!! February 23, 2016
