how much does one of these packages weigh?

wanting to know how much one package weighs because I want to buy enough to get the price break. of course I can go to the store and guess the weight by picking it up but really hoping to hear from owens corning manufacturer for specifics. thankyou.

To answer your question meant for the weight of a bundle or 1/3 sq it really depends on the single being used. For instance certianteed has 30 year, 40 year and 50 year shingles and most series have an option for each . A traditional 30 year comp will weigh around 225 but as i said really Varies product to product and by the life span due to the fact than the shingles with longer lifespans are built up more with additional layers usually up to three (tri-laminate) some shingles such as one built to have an architectural look and simulated to look like slate or shake, such as the presidential series can weigh up to 425 a sq. Remember to always ensure your roof can handle the load and that although not much the edge metal, SA direct to deck aroumd penetrations and on all problematic areas and your underlayment will all add to the overall weight of a completed sq

A convenient way to install a shingle starter row, but it's thinner than the shingles I was installing & it it's only 33' long & covers only 20 sg ft. At $17 a roll it was less expensive to buy a pack of shingles ($26) & use the back half of the the shingle sheet as the starter row

I watched many u-tube instructional videos and originally wanted to just use regular shingles. I do not think they would be as strong as your shingle starter roll. Also I had been watching construction projects in the area and noticed that they did not use any on the up slope rake. It was simple to use and should withstand the Colorado weather.
