*Check your local building code for requirements

Batts

Come in pre-cut lengths for faster installation and each package contains more square feet than rolls; ideal for framed cavities

Use for sunroom with exposed

Will this work under a sunroom with joists that are currently exposed to exterior? I do plan on installing another layer of plywood to close the exposed joists from open air? Would this be a good product to put in between the floor and new plywood layer? Can it be used around HVAC duct?
Asked by: Archangel242
Hi Archangel242, R-30 Insulation Batts may be used in this application. We do recommend covering the bottom of the joists once the batts are installed. Fiberglass insulation may be in contact with ductwork. Thank you for your inquiry!

(the scratching is much more tolerable with this product). you still need a face mask and a whole-body-suit during the installation. that is the best personal protection. -- some of the batches got wet on the edge and we laid them out in the sun but the heat/sun will not dry it out, so we had to cut the wet area off, lucky it was just a small slice we had to cut. -- the one drawback - the prizes. insulation is not cheap and buying in bulk saves money. However i don't think home depot will take back any left over.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality insulation just slightly expensive Cheaper than price of some batts but still almost twice that of similar rolled insulation. Not sure why batts have to be expensive. It does fluff out very easily and nicely compared to the R30 rolled I picked up. Also fun to open up, slice a bag open and look out you've got a big pile of insulation on your hands. Kids would love watching that part of it, even adults slightly amused at how much volume is in one of these bags. Used these batts as first layer of an R60 combo. Second layer ownes R30 unfaced rolled. The insulation on the batts seams bit fluffier and better quality. They're a nice size too and easy to piece together and get up into an attic opening. Plan to do rest of the house with same stuff. Will need 7 more bags. These bags are pretty heavy and bulky so eat your wheaties before heading out to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The R-30 fiberglas insulation in a bag was easy to install The 24" x 48" Batts by Owens Corning were a pleasure to work with. The last experience I had with fiberglas batt insulation was years ago. I remember that after working a few hours, my hands and arms were very itchy. I tried wearing gloves but that was pretty clumsy. The material has been greatly improved and there is no more discomfort installing it. It was just amazing to watch the batts expand to their full depth, after the bags were split open.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does Its Job This insulation was easy to handle and did not send glass fibers into the air. I would still wear a mask and protective eye-wear. Cooled the room very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great product! I am adding insulation in my attic area and the batts are working very well. The only complaint is the price. It is pretty steep. Hopefully I will make it up by saving energy.
