Answer:
Wire batt supports, or tiger teeth, are commonly used, provided the rafter size is large enough to accommodate the batt size without the batts being compressed by the supports.

The maximum operating temperature of Owens Corning pink insulation is 250 degrees F. It would not be an appropriate product to use in an iron smelting furnace.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Money Well Spent I have been procrastinating for a few years about installing insulation above my garage. OMG, what a difference in the temperature in the garage now. The temperatures have been between the 40s-30s for a few days now and I have been able to work in the garage COMFORTABLY with just a long sleeve shirt on. It appears I will not be using my propane heater until below zero temperatures. If your garage is terribly cold in the winter, then you might want to check the amount of insulation you have above the garage. I used roll insulation, it was EASY to cut to size to easily get around all the wires. No waste and no problems. I wore a 3M 8511 particulate respirator, gloves, and long sleeve shirt. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great insulation This product was the right size and price point for us to reinstall it to our office. We removed the old paper insulation so that we could go data, electrical, and HVAC upgrades in the attic. Noticed the higher R value right away. June 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for "across the joyce" attic layer Installed myself and found them to unroll easily and layed them perpendicular to the ceiling joyce where the builder had used cellulose up to the top of the joyce. Impact was imediately noticed in the rooms below on hot 100 degree days as the room is cooler with no radiant heat from ceiling. July 22, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Difference Maker After a brief stint above my garage, found out we had no insulation above our great room, which sits behind the garage. Put a few rolls of this between the trusses and a difference was noticed immediatly. September 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great addition to your attic Easy to cut and to work with. No problem getting the full 8' peices through my crawl space . January 29, 2013
