Open the package, plug it in and go! Operation is fairly straight forward and readout is large and clear. Quality seems excellent. Unit is large enough that whatever dual outlet you plug into, the second plug is blocked. This also means a combination plug/switch is not available. Back-lit screen would improve readability.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jornie1 Excellent Product....Great Price
This meter is exactly what I needed and the price/value was excellent. It does precisely what I had wanted. Accurate line voltage to a given appliance while at the same time giving me wattage, amps and cost per day, week or month for that appliance based on my cost per KW charge by my electric company. Great product.

The P3 EZ meter was a great buy. It took me time to learn how it worked, but after watching 2 YouTube videos where people showed how it worked I was able to get it working well. Would definitely recommend this thing for anyone trying to identify an energy hog.

I bought this to be able to measure PC hardware power usage and it does that very well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SteveVA Very handy for your budget and generator
I enjoy using this device around the house since I have received it. The manual is easy to follow and I quickly set my rate to 11 cents per kWh, which is what I pay. Once the device is plugged in, you get a reading quickly. It averages out as the device (like a fridge) runs then stops. You can easily scroll through the hourly, daily, monthly and yearly costs. If I charged my phone continuously for a year, it would cost $6.57 as seen in the photo.
Other readings include Hz, watts and amps. All are important if you use a generator. I have a 2000 watt generator and can tell what my appliances, such as my fridge, draw so I know what I can plug in. Hz is important as well for sensitive electronics such as phones and laptops. My outlets and inverter generator read around 60 hz, where it should be.
I plan to get a lot of use out of this device and recommend it if you are curious about cost, especially and extra fridge or TV. One downside is that the device is a little big so it won't fit well on a power strip.

This really works well. I was trying to determine the start up wattage of a freezer so I could decide what generator to use. Worked as described.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by blrow3 Great way to kill those energy vampires in your home!
The kill-a-watt Es power monitor is super easy to use and understand. It gives you real time data on the power consumption of whatever device you plug into it. This unit had helped me identify several electronic devices and appliances that I thought were in a low-power or off mode, but we're wasting a ton of electricity! This u it paid for itself in the first month! Great addition to my toolbox!

Contrary to what others have said, I find the Kill A Watt EZ meter to be reliable. I am running my entire motorhome through it--1500 watt heater, microwave, hair dryer, lights, battery charger, etc. Of course, not everything at once, but I have run a high wattage heater through it for about 2 months without smoking the unit. You just have to pay attention to its 15 amp limit. It records the kilowatts I have used and gives me a readout of the total cost, so I can pay my neighbor for the power I am borrowing.
