Sounded like a good idea. Epoxy is very thin and seeps into everything even pinholes. I had epoxy running out of everyplace! I finally used caulking as a barrier before I put the epoxy in. That's when I found out this is really, really epoxy. Stuff hardens like a rock. When the weather changes, everything grows and shrinks with temperature except epoxy. Now I have cracked wooden framing and a pound of rock solid epoxy to remove.

I have some wood on my house. So I used this product to fix some of the root. It flows nicely into week rotted wood and hardens. Appears to repeal water as well.
Easy to mix up, and application is simple, though you may want to drill some small holes to facilitate getting this product into the wood.

Absorbs surprisingly well into damaged wood. hardens nicely after 24 hours, and scratch resistant in 48. It's fairly thin compared to most epoxies, so it drips on even mildly unleveled surfaces. Cures to a nice shine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hoboralph It saved the rotted window frame
I found the lower 1/4 of a window frame badly rotted when I went to change an air conditioner. I had heard of this product and only found it on Home Depot on line. After knocking out all the very loose rotted wood which went all the way to the 2x4 framing, I let the remaining wood dry out then drilled many 3/16" holes every where until I got good wood. I filled the holes with Terminator and brushed all the surfaces both inside and out with as much of the product as it would hold. The next day I found all the wood was hard and solid so I started filling the area with Plastic Wood filler. It took a couple applications to bring the surface back to normal levels. it came out great and would recommend Terminator to anyone who doesn't want the big job of replacing a major wood project....Ralph

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WoodMaven I would not purchase this product again to restore or stop rotten wood
The product did not perform as indicated in product specifications. Even with the correct temperature and mixing EXACTLY to manufacturer specifications, the product took a great deal of time to gel or solidify. It was not suited to this or any wood restoration project.

Two-part product mixes to honey-like consistency. I used a roller to apply to plywood sheets for shelves. Paintbrush would be better to not entrain air, however, product cured without bubbles.

I used this to repair some significant rot in a deck joist. It cured after a day and appears to provide structural support. Use it in a well ventilated area.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DonF Rot Terminator applies easily and covers well.
Rot Terminator makes a fluid about the consistency of honey. It is easy to apply and covers well, even in rough areas. It's too soon to tell how well it stops rot, but it forms a tight film which should block air from the applied area.
