I have been purchasing Evap. coolers for many years for outdoor comfort during the extreme heat here during the Phoenix summers. Generally, to extend the average lifespan of the sheet metal cooler, can take a lot of maintenance and upkeep. If you don't keep up it'll need replacing. I'm excited about the NON-metal material used for the shell. This should be a long lasting unit with only internal upkeep. I use this when working in my 3 car garage and it does a wonderful job keeping it very comfortable. The price is pretty steep in my opinion but well worth it if you have to work in the heat outside.

Bought this in a pinch when the AC went out & it was 10days+ for the parts to come in. It was the largest unit available in store that day. It leaks constantly, spitting out water. Extremely loud. They even use this unit at the garden registers & have leak absorbency rolls around it. It still puddles everywhere. Bought another different unit at a different store to supplement this one & it was much more efficient/effective- was quieter, didn't leak, cooled better. Returned the louder/ineffective unit to Home Depot & kept the other machine for emergencies.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wingman2 Like, but rather expensive and isn't house broken yet,
I use it under an inclosed Canopy 10x 30' and it really helps cool on the 95º + days.
Don't like how it dribbles water down the media in back, resulting in small puddles on the floor. A screen protecting the fragile paper media would be a welcome addition to help keep the splashing inside the unit. I haven't taken it apart to pesticate but it would seem the water distribution could be better engineered to more evenly distribute the water over the media and reducing the splashing. (to much in some spots none in others)

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Woji Easy to set up and use
Easy to set up, only required a heavy duty extension cord and a garden hose. Operated as advertised immediately, has continued to function well. Purchased for use at a stable; barn help has no problem using it.

I went to Home depot to buy a A/C unit and I found the 2200 I brought home and found that I got a unit that had already been returned. The box had been open, there was no screen on the rear air intake, the cord was loose in the box, I turned the water on and nothing happened, no water flow thru the unit. I like the concept but the unit I got had problems so I brought it back to Home Depot

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Txdeputy Should have looked at another Brand.
Even after reading all the reviews, both negative and positive, I made the purchase. 3 weeks after the purchase, the water pump went out. Hopefully, I can get it worked out with the manufacturer.

Everything works great, cools my 3 car garage just fine. The only issue have is that the unit should have a water level sight glass. I am constantly worry I might run the pump dry when I don't have the hose connected.
