Product Overview

The all new Port-A-Cool Jet Stream 2400 portable evaporative cooling unit cools up to 2,000 sq. ft. making it perfect for mechanic’s bays, workshops, large work areas, patios, decks ... anywhere air conditioning is ineffective or cost prohibitive. The new model includes standard Port-A-Cool unit features that have made the name a trusted leader in portable evaporative cooling, even in high relative humidity conditions. The Port-A-Cool Jet Stream 2400 lowers temperatures 15 to 25°F using tap water and 115-Volt of electricity for an average utility cost of 79-cents per 8-hour period. The one-piece housing that eliminates leaks and rust, and premium quality KUUL Pads cooling media are just two of the features that make Port-A-Cool units a portable, powerful and practical cooling choice. This evaporative cooler performs best in dry, arid climates.

Would you recommend this product to cool my 120 degree, 3 car garage in Las Vegas, NV? Would it need an exterior air vent in a garage wall, then blow it through the house and out an open back window?

Answer:
Yes, its possible to use itin the garage BUT you want to make sure there is a way for fresh air to enter ( i.e open your garage door half way) or it will make your working enviorment humid and sticky.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not quite up to the job The cooler was not quite up to the job. The velocity of air was short from what we anticipated. Probably should have gone the standard design. July 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is a must for those who want to work in the shop during the summer This unit is great!! I checked how effective it was and found with the digital temp gun that it lowered the air temperature 21 degrees ( comparing the incoming air to the outgoing air ) Remember that you want to keep fresh air flowing so don't try to close up the area you are trying to cool like you would for air conditioning.
