Having wanted a proper miter saw stand for many years, this Portamate Miter Saw Stand meets every single need I have for my saw and adds a couple great features to boot.
Assembly out of the box takes less than ten minutes. Unfold the attached legs and lock them in position with their spring pin lock. Each leg locks positively into place with no wiggle or play. That's important with a heavy saw and cuts being made all day. The saw attachment brackets snap lock onto the base with a sturdy 'click' and once you slide the material arms into their rails and screw in the adjustment knobs you're all set.
The stand itself is made from steel, all steel. It's painted with a nice gloss orange finish. No plastic parts on the legs, pins or rails to break off when you bear down on a project. The material arms and cross support beams are also made of metal and can hold the weight of any size material you'd be cutting on a miter saw.
The stand comes with all the necessary hardware to mount just about any miter saw on the market. They even include extra steel brackets to mount saws that may have a narrow bolting pattern on their base. Whatever size miter saw you're using, this stand can hold it.
Attaching my saw to the mounting brackets took about five minutes. The four included bolts were just the right size for the base my saw has. I didn't need the extra adjustment brackets, nor did I need to use the extra long bolts they also include for you.
My favorite feature of the stand is the detachable saw brackets that give you a separate stable base for the power tool when it's not on the stand. This adds a level of flexibility that is most welcome. Attaching the saw to the base with those brackets is a quick snap lock procedure and the large handles on the release make for quick work of disassembling. When they snap into place, you know the saw is secure.
The side material arms allow for an infinite range of width and height adjustments up to 113" wide to keep your cuts square with the surface of your saw. They clamp into place securely with medium sized threaded knobs.
On the job site you can have the stand unfolded and the saw snapped onto the stand in under a minute. It's that smooth and easy.
I have one tip, and that is to withdraw the material arms as far as the rails safely allow and mark that point with a black marker. This will keep you from pulling the arms out too far and having them fall out.
Everything about this stand exceeded my expectations. Rock solid assembly, huge material length and weight capacity, no wobble in the stand once set up and the ability to instantly detach the saw, and reattach whenever needed.
If you're looking to upgrade from the wobbly table and saw horse method of holding your miter saw, grab this stand today. You won't regret it.

I have wanted to get a miter saw stand but the cost kept me from buying one. After see this one and the price was right I decided to get the Port A Mate PM4000. It was easy to assemble and only took about 10 minutes to take out of the box and assemble. The only tool you need is wrench or socket to bolt the miter saw to the quick release attachment. It has a quick mount tool attachment that is really good. Once you bolt your miter saw to the quick mount tool attachment to the saw when your work is done for the day, all you have to do is press on the two quick release handles and the miter saw comes off the saw stand and you are ready to put the miter saw away. Press the four snap pin release for the four legs and you are ready to put it away. When you are ready to start the next job click the easy snap pin on the 4 leg out and put on the miter saw that was attached to the quick release handle and you are ready to go. It comes with 3 sets of different size bolt to connect the miter size to the quick release attachment. The unit is sturdy and doesnât flex when you have the miter saw. At first the high seem higher than I used to. Once I started using it I actually like the high. I was using before two saw horses and plywood. The only negative thing would be a small tray when I could put my pencil, tape measure when Iâm cutting the pieces of wood. Besides that, itâs a great product. You will not go wrong if you purchase. It comes with a one (1) year limited warranty

For the price you pay, this is the best stand you can buy. I have looked at the other options out there but this is the best Value for money. The PM-4000 has a very sturdy stance that even my 12" sliding compound miter saw is rock solid. The saw easily lifts off and the stand can be carried with one hand. This is the last stand I will ever have to buy.

Being an old pro of construction, here is my review....Solid built and will take some rough handling. The issue is the arms that reach out to hold the wood. One side will hold the wood and the other side is very limited due to not being able to adjust it to the other side of the stand to have full access to it..
