Like i said. Great product. Bought this item to do some hobby jobs around the house.
Worked well. Didn't blow any fuses and the thermal protector did it's job. Tried to weld rebar but had no success. Not the welders fault. Material is junk and rich with carbon. I found that 1/16 rod and 1/8 worked well. Used harbor Freight electrodes. Cheap and was able to spark the rods easily. I am by no means an expert welder but more a novice. Haven't welded since High School but after a few sticks and watched video on YouTube I was pretty good. Hope this review helps. Oh yeah the price was incredible.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the plug wire is only about 5 feet in length but the welding leads are 8 feet. would have liked a longer plug wire so I could keep the machine closer to me.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lee Beginner System that really works well for a low price
I always wanted to learn welding, but the entry fee for the equipment was too high. This unit is nicely priced and really works. I have several small sheet metal projects and this unit is perfect. The only negative is this unit only works with two stick sizes and you have to order them, but that was just a minor setback. The front of the unit has a power switch and right next to it is a switch clearly labeled with the stick size so I did not have to guess the amperage level to set.

Works just about ok for a low power welder, good for small home or outdoor power equipment repairs or projects. Welded a 1/8" bar to 3/16" pipe for a T bracket and did OK. A more powerful unit would have made it easier & better quality welds though! Unit came well packed but face shield was broken in the box. Called the 800 number & they sent one in a few days so the service is there if needed. Great price on a HD special made my decision to buy it since it would pay for itself after a few small jobs if you had to pay someone.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nepreneaux The little welder that could
I get tired of reading stuff from overly macho welders that say you cannot get the job done with these little stick welders. When I was growing up there were basically two types of welding, oxy-acetyline and arc welding. I am sure the TIG and MIG and wire all existed but in my high school shop class it was a Lincoln tombstone or bottles. I got this little unit mostly for repairing and building fences on my farm. I built all the corner braces for my fences on 37 acres from 2 3/8 inch pipe, hitching posts for horses, 3 pt box receiver hitches for an 80 hp tractor, and a 16 ft trailer that hauled a 1/2 ton pick up from Texas to Missouri with this unit. It works on a Honda generator in the back of the truck and is a lot cheaper than a gas powered unit that I evidently do not need. It is a very capable unit for a hundred bucks.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WeldingBill Good for Small Welding Projects
I have seen different sets of specifications on the web for this welder. Some say it will burn 5/32 electrodes, it will not, ever. I believe they meant 5/64. I could not get it to burn 3/32 6013 as stated in another review. It did do a great job with 1/16 7014 on the max setting. Overall i am pleased, i plan to use it to train others to weld at work, it was inexpensive, uncomplicated, and functional. I purchased it on sale, it was just what I wanted, just know you will only burn small rods.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mark3 Good value, but duty cycle is a pain
I bought this on sale, and otherwise I think I would have spent a bit more and bought a better welder. For the price I paid, I am extremely happy. This is my first welder and I've spent about 5 hours on a wrought iron fence project with it. I got about 30 to 50 minutes of on and off working time before it heated up and hit the thermal protection. Once that happened, I had to wait 15 minutes for it to cool, then weld for 5 mins before the welder would heat up again. I used 3/32" 6013 sticks just because this was a small welder, and it worked great. I think it could handle 1/8" too, but haven't tried. Comes with a cheap welding mask that I didn't use, a chipping hammer/brush. Has selectable 50/70 amp switch for output power.
Overall, I have enjoyed using the welder so far. You just have to space out your use so it won't overheat and slow you down.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jerry44870 Good little light weight stick welder.
This small light weight welder is well worth the $69 sale price that I paid for it. It’s designed for small light duty jobs, which it does well. The cables and clamps are not the base quality, but they are not all that bad for occasional use. Only time will tell how long it will last, I think it will be good for the long run.

A good welder for the price. Not heavy duty but meets our needs.
