Rated 4 out of 5Â by Disappointed Adapter Threads Stripped
This filter comes with thread-adapters, fitting various faucet brands. The thread-adapters are made of pliable plastic. Over time the shear weight of the filter, along with the minimal force needed to move it around, wear on the plastic threads, which are screwed into/onto the sharper and stronger metal faucet threads. Do to such light wear, the plastic threads eventually stripped enough that simple water pressure blows the entire filter, including the adapter, off of the faucet itself: "Clunk" into the sink! Entire filter now must be replaced!
PUR needs to make the adapter out of brass, so that like materials are threaded together.
This review is a follow-up to one that I submitted after first purchase of the filter, which pointed out other potential weeknesses which, however, did not prove to be problems. Unfortunately, that review aparently has been wiped from this website.
I could make other suggestions to improve the filter design; but the plastic adapter-threads are the weekest part. That needs to be changed to brass.
Mine lasted around one year before needing replacement. Other than that, PUR filters purify water better than anything that I have read-about.

The Pur filter would not fit on my Delta kitchen facuet. I tried to find a facuet at Home depot that the Pur fliter would fit on but there was none.
