Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice greenhouse but get your tools out. There were bent parts on arrival, due to the usual shipping clumsiness. But they could be bent back. Some of the weather stripping was torn and stuck to random parts -- again, shipping. To assemble the greenhouse, I had to grind down various tabs so they would fit in place. It's as if Palram had never attempted to assemble their product. Some window rails were completely closed and had to be pried open. We invented better ways to install various parts, especially the roof, which was presented in the instructions in the wrong order. We ended up using a huge array of tools to get it all to work. It took two people sixteen hours not the six that was advertised. However, it's a solid greenhouse. Anything that complicated won't snap together out of the box, though I don't know why. Just get ready to take a deep breath and get after it. We ended up returning the anchoring kit, as it was un-installable, once the greenhouse was built. You can't climb on the roof to install needed parts and you can't pry off the railing protectors once their in place. April 22, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great quality greenhouse. A little pricey. I originally bought this greenhouse to have a place for us boys to hang out in the wintertime (with a heater of course). Since winter broke, we've used it as a greenhouse and love it. At first, the directions were difficult to grasp. Once you get the hang of it its much easier. Make sure you start on level ground. I built a platform (you can see in picture) which helped with it being level. I was amazed at the engineering and thought that went into the product. Amazing. Its very light weight so make sure you secure to a base. July 15, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Snap A Headache This product is not a "snap" to assemble. Be prepared to spend hours, likely multiple days putting your Snap And Grown together. I even had 5 people assisting, two of which work in construction and it made for a 9 hour process-still not finished. The pieces do not fit together well. We noticed from the start it was very difficult to get parts to fit together as the directions instruct. The directions are basically non-existent minus many drawings that only confuse you more than help you. Lastly, the customer service was not good. I ordered an 8X12 greenhouse and received an 8X8. You are better off building your own than purchasing this product. January 13, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Instructions are great!! This product was easy for two people to build in one day. I do however wish the panels were thicker. Ordered shade kit from the company, it got here quick and was easy to install. November 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Out Sanding I have helped friends over the years and have build around 6 greenhouse kits ALL OF THEM WERE A BIG PAIN. I bought a Snap and Grow 8'x12' . The Engineers that built this greenhouse gets a big pat on the back from me, every single part from the biggest to the smallest fit like a glove. It is the very best greenhouse I have built. The instuctions were very good and easy to follow. "A need to know," To have this good of a outcome you have to make sure that you start with a sound, square and flat foundation, inventory parts when recieved and take your time. It took me 3 days to inventory and put together + 1 day to build the foundation I only needed help for a couple hours for the hoe project. May 8, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to put together but the roof vents are terrible The greenhouse is easy to put together, despite the picture only directions. A little worded help would have been better to know where to place some of the pieces. You have to figure it out and go ahead a page or two to do just that. It is not a major deal, it would have been helpful, is all. Making sure that your are true and square is very important but after that it is very easy to assemble. The roof vents do not fit very well. I measured, squared, unsquared, did eveything possible to make them fit but they don't. They do fit well enough, I guess, but they could be a lot better. Alll in all I do like the product. So far I am pleased. August 4, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Handy unit Previous reviews have stated that you need to be able to follow pictures. Very little verbiage in the instructions. But if you can match up part numbers with the numbers on the pieces you are golden. Definitely contains heat well. Make sure to construct on the ground to maximize the earths heat. Built it on 2 layers of 4 x 6's. Filled first layer with loam, put down a weed matting and topped it off with 1/2 inch stones. Going to work just fine for what we are doing. July 30, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Starter Greenhouse This is my first greenhouse so I wanted to buy a pre-manufactured model. My intentions are to see what I like and dislike about its design and, eventually, build my own. Having a solid, even, level foundation on which to assemble is essential for this product. Any greenhouse would have the same requirement. At $1500 it's too expensive, $950 is the most I'd pay. I got it on sale and feel like it was worth it. The assembly instructions are entirely diagrammatic with no written instructions. At times it is difficult to understand what the drawing is indicating and some work had to be reversed and redone because items or parts in the drawing don't look like the part or item as it was actually shipped. Even with the difficulties it took (9) hours to complete the assembly. The lexan panels are very thin but seem to be supported well and they're functional. Once everything is assembled with all the supports and cross ties in place the structure seems acceptably rigid with little unwanted movement. I like the lightweight approach in its construction and design. The doors were the part of the construction that, initially, I had the most skepticism about. But, once installed, I was pleasantly surprised at their fit and function. The roof vents are the worst part of the entire design. The "hinge" is horrible and resists operation throughout its entire motion. Also, if anything is bent or dented in shipping--and it will be--it will affect the operation or assembly of that part. That was especially true on one of the roof vents. Even so, in comparison, the one that wasn't dented and it didn't work so well either. The considerable downside to buying this greenhouse so far is the prices of the accessories. The shelving to go on the walls is pricey. (6) wall shelves at $50 each comes to $300 worth of plastic shelves. The only reason I will likely purchase those shelves is because they match the special, unique grooves in the structural members. Otherwise I'd build my own. It's the same for bench shelves. They are $89 each and it would require (6) of them adding up to $534. Very pricey and I'm not fond of the idea that they are constructed from steel. I'll definitely build my own bench shelves to the same dimensions as Palram's. If, at least, the wall shelves shipped with this greenhouse I'd consider the $1500 reasonably priced. Overall it's an easy way to get a leap on building a greenhouse. I feel like it will last enough years that I will definitely know the likes and dislikes of it. We are very excited to be able to start our garden from seed this year and we intend to also have some greenhouse vegetables as well. December 27, 2011
