I am trying to get an idea of how long a greenhouse would last, and I would want to purchase this item but unsure if I should just build one myself.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by easy assembley The kit comes as an 8x8 with 2-4' additional kits. The directions are easy to follow, (all pictures, no narritive). All the parts were clearly labeled. It took me 15 hours to assemble working alone, The directions suggest 2 people do the assembling it would truly make it easier with 2 people. Althought it all went togeather easy I question it's survival in the winther. All the connecting brackets are thin metal and easly bend. I was missing 4 brackets and the bolts for the brackets. One contact with the company and the company shiped the missing parts. The greenhouse lookes great. June 25, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GREENHOUSE This is an excellent greenhouse for a small back yard, and modest means. It come very well packaged, and although it took 3 of us 2 days to put together the instructions were excellent and it is very well put together. It is not a very strong structure, the plastic windows somwhat flimsy, as are all the metal parts. I live in a windy area and it was suggested that I strap it down, which I have done. However one has to take into account the cost of this unit, (8'x16' ) unlike a comparative price for a glass greenhouse. Sale $1,500 vs at least $10,000.- for a similar size... My plants seem to love it and seedlings are sprouting after only 4 days. The house needs a shading cover, as the summer progresses. I had to build a foundation structure, and to grow my organic vegetables in a protected environment I put a 12'x4' x18" h,"frame it" garden box system into it. I am enjoying this delightfully looking greenhouse addition to my garden..Good luck May 1, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good once you figure it out I just finished putting mine together yesterday. The picture instructions are adequate for 90% of the construction. If you are planning to purchase one here are some things to do and watch for: - There was damage to some of the parts due to handling during shipping. A screwdriver and careful bending will help with the repairs. - Leave a 2 foot space between any fences or walls or you will have great difficulty sliding in the panels for the roof. - Assembly of the uprights and roof require that the connectors be fitted into grooves, holes be aligned then plastic pins be inserted. I only got 3 of the 21 pins to insert with just finger pressure. Do yourself a favor and make a pilot for the pins. A 1 1/2 inch long piece of 5/16" steel rod with the last inch tapered to about 1/18 inch on the end worked great. Get the holes close. Tap the pilot in. Then push it on through with the plastic pin. - The uprights straddle and hold together the ends of the 4 ft base pieces. - The groove on the outside of the uprights and roof pieces need to line up. If not, the panels won't fit. - The clamps supplied to hold the base pieces to the platform are flimsy. Buy a 48" piece of 1' x 1/2' U-channel and cut it into 4" lengths. Drill two holes for screws in each one for some screws with grip. Square your base the best you can then use one on each of the base strips. (I figure mine won't come off in gale force winds without taking the base, pots and plants with it now.) - The cross bracing supplied is a joke. Each piece is so thin I was afraid of accidentally bending them. Once again you should buy some heftier pieces of metal.. - Finally, a glob of silicone (bathroom) sealant about every 18" or so on the panels will help quite them and hold them in place. Hope this helps May 17, 2014
