Purchased this microwave just over a year ago and it just stopped working. Everything just went dark in the middle of microwaving and it won't even light up or turn on now. Very disappointing. I had my last microwave (different brand) for 12 years. This one was more expensive and barely lasted a year. No longer under warranty, so I can't even get it fixed. Such a waste. The microwave wasn't that great overall anyway. It felt cheap to me, and always overcooked everything if you used it full power, so I had to use it at a lower power level every time I wanted to cook something. If you're undecided on what microwave to buy, I'd choose something else.

Website states width is in the 17" range but is actually ~20.5". It was too wide for the pantry and I had to return it.

Was replaced by a cheaper 1,000 Watts model microwave, not panasonic, that cooks slightly faster and hotter than the 1,200 Watt Panasonic..... which was one-half the cost!
I was disappointed to say the least. The Panasonic was noisy while running and had a loud noisy vibration from the real sheet metal that took 4 shims to reduce the noise.
There was no lamp while cooking which I also didn't like.
I was looking forward to the Panasonic technology for reduced power cooking and did like that but I really didn't notice that the power reduction method appear to make any difference in cooking or reheating food.
I dislike being so negative, but I was expecting the Panasonic to be a top of the line name but the microwave did only last 18 months. BTW, we are only two people using the microwave so it shouldn't have been overworked or abused.

So far we are very pleased with the performance of the microwave. The 5 beeps when finish is not too loud and not too soft . Really enjoy the reheat sensor, it does a great job. Have not tried defrosting yet.

We purchased mIcrowave Model nn-sn651W in Dec. of 2014 and today, June, 2016 it has stopped working. We are a retired couple and don't even use it every day. I know things do not last like they used to, but certainly feel it should be more than this. I called the chat line who, at the beginning, said they would be glad to help. The only 'help; they gave was the name of a repair service place near us. I am sure the cost just to look it at would not be worth it.
Will definitely not buy another Panasonic!!!

It's hard to find a white microwave these days, so I was happy to find this one. The inverter works great, and the food heats very evenly. Having to hit the button repeatedly to select your power level is a little odd, but you get used to it quick. I really love the Sensor Reheat feature. No matter what you're heating, you press one button and your food comes out nice and hot, and not dried out.
I don't care that the light doesn't come on when you open the door; I don't microwave in the dark. The beep is a normal volume too. I drop down one star because this model has been reported to have door problems, and mine is already making a "thunk" when you open it. We shall see...

A step backwards in the evolution. Our 25 year old microwave just died and the light feature is missed. Otherwise happy with product.

Great microwave! Cooks well and I like the option to cook popcorn based on the size of the bag. That means you'll get a perfectly popped bag every time.
The only down side is the microwave doesn't list the shortcut button menu on the unit. You have to go into the manual in order to cook a potato for instance. This might not seem important but you'd be surprised. Who wants to take chances when warming a cup of coffee or a muffin? Those food items need exact timers to ensure they won't be too hot when they finish reheating.
Nobody wants to keep checking the manual to remember the timers for those items when you're rushing out to work.
