Product Overview

A push of a button lets the user select from six menu choices: White Rice, Quick Cook (high-speed rice cooking), Brown Rice, Porridge, Soup and Steam. The integrated micro-computer automatically optimizes the cooking temperature to match the menu selection. For example, brown rice can be easily cooked and steamed foods, which normally require difficult heat control, can be quickly and easily prepared in the included steam basket.

  • The front control panel is set at an angle that makes it easy to see in the kitchen
  • Illustrated menu buttons also make operation easy even for first-time users
  • A survey indicated that approximately 70% of all users generally do not carry the rice cooker around, so a simple, compact design with no carrying handle was selected
  • Naturally to enable the rice cooker to be stable and safely carried on occasion, easy-to-grip indentations are provided at the bottom of the unit
  • Advanced fuzzy logic technology: Adjusts power and cooking time automatically for precise and consistent results every time

We have been using a SR-DG102 - Panasonic (5 cups uncooked) for last 8 years and we just wanted to replace that though it still works well except for cosmetic on the inner pot. We checked and found this model is no longer in production now and chose Fuzzy Logic SR-DF 101 of the same size. Home Depot delivered that in 3 days and looks just great. We have tried that out for a month or so and found perfect with all the functions mentioned on board. We found this rice cooker a perfect choice for up to 7 people. I highly recommend this item if you look to buy a rice cooker. We even baked cakes on SR-DG 102 and expect this item will also work for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive best alternative to the other brand w a Z . Bought for daughter in college /first apartment - just the right size - best part she's able to cook porridge and no need to stand in front of stove stirring . Been using rice cooker for long time so didn't bother reading the manual and first time heard the clicking sound - checked troubleshooting page and learned it's normal - rice came out fine so all is good .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for Porridge I was looking for a rice cooker that can make porridge and this one exactly satisfied my need. Very easy to use and non-stick. The only thing is that the inner lid is not removable for cleaning.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sleek Styling Offset by Black Utility Cord Sleek gloss white shell is uglyified by a very utilitarian black electrical cord. Hinged lid opens and closes nicely. Water level graduations on the non-stick pan are difficult to read in all but the most direct light. For me the thing takes up more counter space than desirable at 14" deep x 9-1/2" wide x 7-3/4". The size is reasonable though if one needs to make 5 cups of rice day in and day out. My rice making needs are more modest than that and probably will not use the steamer function. For my daily use I really have capacity overkill. One more observation on the unit's construction concerns the flexible membrane function buttons. I have to wonder how ware resistant over time and use they will be. Likely not an issue with my expected usage of once or twice a week though. Have yet to reconcile the conflicting proportions (rice to water) recommend in the instruction booklet with those on the unit itself. Trial & error and guesstimating, using one of the instructions as a departure point, will eventually get you some rice that is not too hard or soggy. Be patient with your experimentation because long grain white rice takes 38 minutes to cook. Once cooking is complete the machine shifts to warming mode. Too long on warm mode however, rice will brown at the pan's bottom.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Who builds electronic without a timer anymore? Big buttons are nice and easy to understand. However, wish the significant other viewed the specs to realize there is no ability to schedule the cooking time to have the food ready by a certain time. We haven't used it and will probably give it away to a friend as a present now. Not sure if they will like it due to no timing, but we know we won't.
