Smart Network 3D Blu-Ray Disc Player is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be prepared to see sponsored ads in the menu! Panasonic go to great lengths to tell you about the specifications of this DVD player except for the fact that they have sponsored ads they promote written right into the DVD's menu! Tyson Chicken, tire ads, etc. etc. To add insult to injury, the online support says there's no way to turn them off! A great, basic player but after paying for a product I don't need my DVD player to tell me I ought to purchase my jewelry at Zales!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK This is the second time this Blue Ray DVD Player has died on me. 1st time was 6 months in to the warranty 2nd time 1 month after the warranty, same problem WILL NOT BOOT. They will do nothing for me. I own two units, one older (DMR E80H DVR) Recorder Great machine, 2nd one is a VCR/DVD (EMR EZ48V) which was in for repairs at the same time as my DVD Blue Ray was in, under warranty 6 months old. I will never by another Panasonic. YOURS TRULY Billy Boy

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Constantly freezes and must be unplugged to reboot This player works fine when it works, but it freezes ALL the time. It desperately needs a firmware update that will make the stupid player manage sleeping or being turned off when there is a disc or USB thumb drive inserted. PLEASE fix the freezing issue and this will be completely different. How hard is it to make a firmware update to fix a rampant problem that is generating negative reviews all over the internet. How to freeze the player 90% of the time - insert disc and it will auto play (which is awful, please give the option to NOT have auto play every time a disc is inserted or the player is turned on). Turn off the player, and then try to restart. Or pause it and walk away until the player sleeps. It will not wake up or partially wake up but insist that there is no disc inserted and will not eject. Unplug, replug, power on and a few minutes of wasted life later you are probably back in business. FIX IT PANASONIC!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the money. I purchased this player for the internet features. You cannot hook up a keyboard or an Android device to the device. Spend less money and get a basic player and another internet device. The menus are confusing when trying to figure out how to do any advanced features. I have a good amount of experience with connecting advanced devices and could not get it to work. I can connect to the internet but having to use the arrow keys for a keyboard is VERY frustrating. The menus are slow as well. Panasonic has an Android app, but this player will not work with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Regularly freezes/Poor warranty My BR player began freezing up around 90-days in service when watching a disk, streaming, on start up, or shut down. When it freezes, it won't respond to the remote or manual buttons. To get it working I had to unplug it. Unplugging it worked for a few weeks and now it won't even turn on. Since I am beyond the 90-day labor warranty, I was quoted a repair price that is more than what a new one costs. This makes the 2-year parts warranty of little value if you are beyond the 90-day labor warranty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Firmware Update killed Video After months of good to fair operation the player will not play newest BD's without video cut outs. I must blame this on latest firmware update. It has to do with the HDMI color option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Blu-ray Player Panasonic continues to amaze me! I bought my first Panasonic Blu-ray player back in 2009 and have been hooked ever since. With each Panasonic Blu-ray player I have purchased, the features and ease of use have increased; the BDT230 is no exception. Outstanding picture and sound from a Blu-ray player at this price point is very difficult to beat. The player loads up Blu-ray discs quite fast, and the menu is easy to navigate whether you want to change settings, play a movie, or experience the VIERA Connect applications (Netflix, YouTube, etc). Even though I use a wired connection to my Blu-ray player, I was happy to see there is built-in wireless connectivity in the BDT230. Other players at this price point require you to buy a separate wireless dongle to connect wirelessly so having it built into the player is a huge benefit to those that are unable to connect through a wired connection. The look of the BDT230 is very sleek and smaller than the previous Panasonic Blu-ray players I have owned. The eject, stop, play, and power buttons are recessed on the top right corner of the Blu-ray player. I like this design feature because it not only adds to the sleek look of the Blu-ray player, but it also allows me to easily find the buttons with my finger since my "Man Cave" is dark. I have not experienced any freezing issues with the player or while viewing movies, and the firmware updates are easy to complete. Thank you to Panasonic for including a physical manual with the player! I would not hesitate to recommend the BDT230 to anyone, and in fact, I have already purchased another one for my living room.
