I am a remodeler /doit your self guy and i found the edging to be a pain in the butt . It wasnt hard just tedious , i always want stuff perfect or as close as can be . You have to smack down the edge 2-3 times B4 it stays snapped in place and i kept the mat inside the heated part of the house for 3-4 days which made it easier. I found if you mark your car tires on the floor and sudtract the width from the width of the mat you can get it centered and mark the floor b4 you roll out the mat.I also noticed it not slick when wet as noted in description and cleans very easy with a sponge mop.I was thinking this mat would be rolled up for storage in the summer but after putting it together i think it will stay out for a while i did get the protector strips which i put down with carpet tape and it looks great and works even better. Final word , yeah its a pain in the butt and if you get the protector strips you will invest a little on how you choose to put it together mine turned out great no wrinkles , centered perfect and looks great

I did as much research as I could before purchasing one of these mats. It seemed like the only bad reviews I could find were from people complaining about putting it together. After putting it together for myself I can say that those are probably the type of people that have someone mow their lawn for them.(no offense) Install couldn't be easier. The vinyl seems really tough and edges seem to be really sturdy and secure. I came inside after finshinshing and purchased another before writing this review.

This is my second Clean Park Garage mat, so I knew what I was getting into when I ordered it. The previous one lasted over six years and the only reason I replaced it was because the side rails cracked apart from years of my wife not parking totally on the mat and running over the rails. I contemplated just replacing all the rails but the cost would have been nearly the same as a complete mat. The mat itself was in great shape after many years of motorcycle jack usage and Harley kickstands resting on the mat.
Installation: I recommend that you do this when the garage is fairly warm and the mat and rails are more pliable. Just follow directions to the T and take your time. I used a kneeling pad and as I worked my way down the mat, I simply used my knees on the pad to press the rails into the mat (I weigh 210 pounds which may have helped). I then went back and walked on all the rails when the job was done.
Problems encountered: I find it hard to believe that one has to trim the top of the mat to complete the job and this was the most nerve wracking part of the installation. I finally decided to use a snap line to get the correct measurement before cutting. A fresh razor knife cuts right through the mat so be careful. Another problem was that the top rails ended up being about 1 inch too long which required me to cut a rail to the proper length in order to have it fit. The same was true for the bottom ramp portion where I had to cut one of the ramps to size as well.
Performance: The mat is perfect for holding huge amounts of slush and water as it drips from your car. The manufacturer recommends using a shop vac to remove the water, but I simply sweep it off aggressively. As stated above, when I work on my heavyweight Harley, it sits on its jack or kickstand without damaging the mat.
I would recommend this mat to anybody who can think things through and have a basic knowledge of putting things together and tool usage. I would not hesitate in buying this mat again.

Bought one last year, worked well through the winter when we get lots of snow coming in on the car, so when it melts the mat contains it pretty well. Some water escapes from one corner - haven't figured out why yet
Still need to vacuum up the water to get rid of it, but at least it contains it so other things in the garage don't get wet
Just bought a second one for the other vehicle

Purchased the Heavy duty mat just in time for a long Canadian winter. Its been set up for several months now and is doing exactly what it was supposed to do... It holds a lot of rain water and keeps the snowy car slush nuggets in. I'd recommend purchasing a wet dry vac to empty out the water every week in the mid winter months.
Come spring time.. just slide the whole mat out and power spray it down and it will be good as new again.
Save your concrete floors and buy this mat.

We were impressed with how quickly they arrived from The Home Depot via UPS. We bought two and the assembly of the second one went a lot faster. We are not happy with how the corners fit together on the end closest to the street. Now that the painful process of assembly is over they should provide good containment of water from rain and snow off our vehicles in the garage.

A garage floor mat shout be something you can drag outside and dump out the slush and mud. This thing is held together with dozens of clamp together plastic edge pieces. They say to sweep it out, but it would require disassembly to get it outside.
It's going back

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dfpy Great quality & easy to install!
We ordered two mats - one for under each car. The quality of the mats is great and they were easy to install. We wish that they offered the heavy duty Clean Park mat in a 9 or 9 1/2 foot width instead of just 7 1/2.
