This bench replaced an earlier version of it after one of the cast iron legs shattered. Suspect hydrogen embrittlement since this earlier replaced one where the leg shattered after assembly. Yes cast iron! However, this bench assembled well with really no issues. The only thing that was missing was the cast iron mesh grate which is replaced with one made of plastic. This substantially cut the weight down and we are evaluating if the bench can withstand the occasional gusts of wind without toppling over. Time will tell if this bench will last as long as the earlier version of which cost about $30.00 less some 10-15 years ago. Yes it is recommended if this sort of bench fits the desired landscape scheme.

We tried going to manufacturer and got no response. We then decided to order another one from HD and the same thing happened. We had to return both. A waste of time and $ and my 78 year old mother in FL had to deal with all of this, since it was a gift. Stay away

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bench 20 years ago, my dad (now deceased) and I built a bench similar to this one. The old one finally collapsed beyond repair this summer. It took my daughter and I about 20 minutes to put this one together and it looks fabulous! It was delivered to the house and the UPS delivery guy helped me carry it to the deck. It looks just as awesome as the first one! We both can sit on it and enjoy the yard under the shade of a maple tree.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks Great but Not worth it The bench looked really great when i received it. Putting it together was simple but I don't feel comfortable sitting on it. The boards are thin you feel like your going to break it when you sit down because the wood bends with you. The back is made out of plastic and also bends. It would of been better if it was metal like the sides and the boards were thicker. The way the boards are set up makes it a very comforable sitting but then again the boards are so thin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great value, but not made well. The directions were pictures with no written directions. I ordered two on these. One for my son and one for us. After putting one of them together, we're returning the other one. The price was excellent but he product isn't sturdy enough. Looks nice as a front porch accessory but you wouldn't want to sit on it for long. Plus I'm afraid to lean back on the resin back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality When product was received, one of the metal legs was bent. When attempting to straighten the leg the metal broke. Cheap material. Disappointing.
