My discharge line is PVC, so I would need to use PVC cement... so this product being ABS must be for connecting to flexible discharge hose? or some sort of ABS pipe?

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works well We bought this check valve several years ago. It has worked well, although I didn't think its plastic body was very sturdy. Several commenters have said that there is a hole in the valve inlet. This is true. After watching several videos on sump pump installation, I learned that a bleed hole is recommended in sump pump outlet lines. The purpose is to prevent the pump from losing its prime due to a trapped air pocket. One manufacturer recommends drilling a small hole in the outlet line if not using a product of this type that already has a hole in the line. I never had a sump pump get air locked this way, but the experts say it is possible. July 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sump pump check valve Change every time I change pump. So far they have been very dependable. October 5, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I was expecting Check valves do the job they were intended for however the hole in the threading causes water to leak when running glad I didn't have to use product inside the house! !! July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install This product is very easy to install and works as advertised. June 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Valve works great but... Easy installation. Although the fit into the ID of the 2 1/2" outlet pipe was pretty loose. But the funny part is, that it comes with a hole drilled into the threaded section on the pump side of the valve. So every time the pump kicks on water shoots 5' out of this hole. I had to put a short screw into the hole to block it off. December 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 9 Years of Service So Far I have had one of these on my sump pump for over 9 years without any problems. I am replacing because I just replaced the sump pump but have had no issues with the valve. June 15, 2013
