Answer:
no.
There are two different kinds of replacement spouts - - one that screws on a threaded pipe, and this type that is secured with a set screw.

Answer:
When you pushed it onto the copper pipe it's possible the o ring tore. I always shine up the copper with some emery cloth and put some faucet grease onto the pipe and it slides right on.

Answer:
Nope. I tried. The slip on fitting is part of the spout and trying to change it will break the whole thing.
There is a another product you need with the threads inside. When I found the right one, it said "motor home" on the packaging, so that might work for you.

Customer Reviews

Adjustable Tub Spout with Front Diverter in Chrome Finish is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost as easy and changing a lightbulb When our tub spout began to only partially divert the water flow to the shower head, we bought this replacement. Main thing to check before buying, is to see if your current spout is a screw on (threaded screw) or held on with a set screw. This spout is secured with a set screw. Using an allen wrench, remove old spout and replace with this one. Easy as pie. Literally took 5 minutes, with the most difficult part being bending into the tub and looking upside down while using the allen wrench. Diverter pulls very smoothly and diverts the water completely. Great purchase, great item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good stuff Interestingly enough, we had threaded pipe coming out of the wall. If you see that, a spout without threads won't work for you. This one does not have threads. This one pushes on and is secured with a screw. Check your pipe diameter before you buy this just to make sure you get the right one. When I found the one with threads, it said on the package "motor home" even though I installed it in my house. Go figure... The star level of this review is because the part was average-to-high quality and came with everything you needed to install it. I had to return it anyway.

The shower diverter on my spout did not work so I needed to replace it. There are several models of this type of spout so take your old one off and take it to the store with you to make sure you get the correct one. What I needed was not carried by the local store but the sales person looked it up on line for me and I ordered it myself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T BUY! I just removed a spout like this after discovering (by chance) a massive water leak in my crawlspace. Apparently the plastic (!) connection this spout makes to the faucet pipe had become brittle and started cracking allowing water (whenever tub/shower faucet was turned on) to spray into the wall cavity behind the tub/shower surround. Because this kind of partial leak still allowed for most of the water pressure to pass by the leak source and reach the shower head/tub spout outlet the leak had persisted for many weeks. I have had to remove the shower surround/tile, soaked drywall, and tub to expose the water saturated wood to remove some and attempt to dry others. Long story short: spend a few more dollars for a completely metal spout (ideally a brass connection that will not corrode).
