Unplug the ends and check all bare wire ends within the plugs to be sure they are secure (not loose) and no signs of melting or blackening in the connection areas. Check to be sure your white wire (Common) is connected to the silver prong and/or silver screw on the plug ends. Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement plug Like the light on the plug gives you a night light effect and lets you know you have power at the plug. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Indicator Feature is handy I'm in the film industry and we make our own extension cords. Film standard is Hubbell Connectors and I will say that if you are slightly over the limit with a 2000 watt fixture, the commercial grade Hubbell connectors, even though they're rated the same as these at 15 amps, seems to be a stronger build and will handle it. (Of course I do not recommend this because it exceeds the amperage) The reason I buy these is that they have the indicator to quickly show you if an outlet is wired properly. It's just another line of defense for spotting problems and because time is money in my industry it's a great feature. They are built well, it's easy to get 12/3 into the terminals and I recommend them. They are a bit pricey, but my first batch of these have held up great over the past 8 years. I honesty buy them for the indicator feature so if you don't need that Hubbell is great and would be a great choice at a better price. March 22, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good item, like the LED indicator Use these for extension cords and block heater plugs. Like the LED indicator for possible problems. January 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome for stage power extension cords! These plugs are great for replacing ends and making extension cords for live music applications. The Ground Continuity Monitoring light is great for quickly identifying problem areas where no ground is present which causes noise/hum in audio systems. The plug glows green if grounded and red if powered but not grounded. November 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by this thing is really cool i did not realize it when i bought it but it has a light in it that comes on when it is hooked up letting you know the line is hot - great idea September 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by it's a plug worked as expected, not hard to use, fair design, seems sturdy December 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good woodhead for an industrial environment Good quality woodhead. I'm using it on my gangbox outside on the jobsite. So far it has delivered with no problems. I like how it lights up green when there are no issues and red when there are grounding issues. Will buy this again for my next cord splicing project. July 8, 2014
