Check the owner's manual to see if the problem and solution is shown. I had one that I used for years before it finally broke The light would come on, but not the heater. If it is new return it for a refund or a replacement. If it is old, cut the cord off and throw it away.

Yes, easy to use. Place the heater on a level surface and in an upright position.. It has a safety feature that turns it off if it is turned over. To prevent an overload on your circuit don't use other high voltage appliances on the same outlet.Turn the gray knob (Thermostat control) all the way to the right.(clockwise). Switch the Selector (orange button) to hi. Low heat means the heater will run continuously at 1350W. High heat means the heater will run continuously at 1500W, Leave the grey knob all the way to the right so the heater can operate and warm up the room. When you are comfortable lower the temperature setting by turning the grey knob to the left or counter-clockwise until the heater stops operating. the thermostat will automatically maintain the pre-set temperature level by turning the heater off and on. You may be able to go online and get another owner's guide. That product number is PUH680 on the guide.. Read Less

Answer:
I think the thermostat would be considered continuous as it works as long as the heater is on. The coolest setting would be to have the selector (orange button) on low or 1, and the thermostat (grey knob) one dot up from off. When on low heat the heater will run continuously at 1350 W, and with high heat at 1500W. If you have your owner's guide check it for more complete information..

1500-Watt Utility Space Heater is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built To Last Most modern appliances are not meant to be maintained or repaired, rather they are designed to be thrown away after a year or two. The Patton space heater is an exception. It's built to last. I've had mine for at least 10 years, and it's supremely easy to maintain. Just remove the 8 Philip head screws that secure the back panel and it's a simple matter to clean out any accumulated dust on the fan blade and motor. You may occasionally want to add a drop of oil to the motor bearing. After several years, the power cord on mine frayed and began to crack, however it was easily replaced. Simply unscrew the wire nuts affixing the old cord, install the new cord, and screw the wire nuts back on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great. Always dependable This heater is awesome. For me. It really depends on what you are using it for. It is a bit noisy yes. If i was sleeping in the same room then its a bad choice. If i had it in the living room then not too good either unless you turn the tv up a little. Shed, garage, basement is best choice. I would not worry about the bearings like one reviewer said. Here is why I say: I have had this heater for 3 years. I have it cycling on the thermo dial in the 1 o'clock position. It is running all winter for the past 3 winters. Its inside my enclosed trailer which has kitchen with 4 sinks hw heater and 45 gal water tank, and plumbing. Also many containers of various liquids. It moves air. Not radiant. Thats exactly what I wanted. Nothings frozen. Its always running or standing by. Dependable. And not anymore noise then the first day it ran. See, bearings are great :-)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very cheap, poorly designed heater Very bad design. The heater fan is far too noisy and severely out of balance. I bought two of these heaters today, ran each of them for about 10 minutes and could not believe how much noise and vibration they made. I will return both heaters tomorrow before the bearings in the fan motors start to fail.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for... Heater is fine for maybe a bathroom or a small area that has absolutely no drafts. I put it under my desk at work and it barely warms my legs up. I bought two because they are small, unfortunately two will trip most circuit breakers. Does not get very warm at all. Maybe my two are not functioning properly but I am not impressed at all. They both work the same. Both at home and work. Good luck if you order one of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase I bought 2 of these heaters for my daughter. One for her office and the other one for her bedroom. She is very happy. The heaters are working great and doing the job. I would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Portable heater I like this heater, it keeps me warm here at work. I keep it maybe three feet from me and it puts out lots of heat. I would recommend it to a friend. I keep it on high and the thermostat works great, it comes right on when it starts to feel cold. I LIKE IT and I also have one for the bathroom at home for in the mornings getting ready for work.
