Customer Questions & Answers

How do I cut the blocks in half?

I laid the blocks in a half circle. How do I cut the blocks to even off the two ends of the half circle?
Asked by: TomH
Yes, there are several methods discussed on YouTube. I've done it, but preferred to use masonry saw and grinder. It really depends on desired finish.

Maximum build height?

I am looking for a block to build a retaining wall ~4ft tall. The specs on this page show a max build height of 2ft, but there are customer pictures of much taller walls. I need to get a permit from the city for this wall, which includes showing manufacturer specs for the materials I will be using. Are the specs on this page correct? Thanks!
Asked by: Nick
The website states 6 blocks or 2 feet, but at this height one block needs to be below grade, so 20 inches

11.5 in. x 7 in. x 4 in. Red Concrete Retaining Wall Block is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from my great wall and my water sanctuary I bought my house and it has an ugly hill in the back. I started building the walls four years ago under the heat of the Georgia summer. I cant help but admire the outcome our hard labor and patience. My neighbors and friends always come to the house to see the progress of the wall. I even built a koi pond in the front yard and flower bed along the side of the house for my azaleas. I am still buying this blocks right now due to ongoing huge patio project I am doing right now. The associates of my Home Depot store already knew me due to multiple trips there and they are very helpful to me. Hope you enjoy my post.

D Red Concrete Wall Block is a simple way to upgrade the look of your yard. First, clear a ring of grass and cut out some dirt. 2nd compact dirt and add about 2+ inches sand an compact this. 3rd start by leveling the first row of blocks. After first row is complete and level, work on second row which should be glued. Smallest ring I got was with 10 stones about 2 foot diameter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed. Great product. I have used these before and both results were great. Rich color, attractive wall. Great product. Only negative is the Home Depot near us doesn't carry this item(HYANNIS,MA), had to travel extra 30 miles to pick these up at another Home Depot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for DIY firepit I showed up at my local Home Depot and purchased 30 of these, then needed 9 more. No problem, they had plenty. I used these to make a DIY backyard firepit and they look fantastic. I paired them with marble stones for the bed of the pit, and it came out great in my opinion. Be aware of the lip on one side of them. I didn't realize it was there, and just forced me to adjust slightly to accommodate for it in the construction.
