I LOVE that these are smaller, hence lighter than standard retaining wall blocks. I have some back issues, so lugging those bigger blocks from the store, home and to my area would do me in! These looked really nice at the store and even nicer once installed! I'm female, over 50 and can't lift a lot of heavy stuff anymore, but these are totally doable! I have a new house & needed to make a retaining wall for a slight slope in my yard, then build up the soil to level for planting. All the dirt, etc was just running down and onto the sidewalk to where you couldn't tell where the original border was. I had installed mow-curbing and it had become buried under the dirt. Once I got the dirt shifted, and started laying these .. on the mow curbing, since I'm NOT putting in any grass, it went really fast. It looks so much better than I thought it would! Very happy with the results so far. I'm having to use the wedge 'caps' that look very similar for a tight corner that won't accomodate a rounded look, and those stick out a bit on the inside. I don't care though, it'll be covered with soil ;) I've only gotten a small portion done so far, and am fortunate that HD is only 2 miles away. I just go a couple times a week for a new load to do a new section. It'll go really fast once I get this section done, since this one needs to be about 8 stones high, and as I go along the yard, it'll decrease gradually to only one or two to get a uniform height for the planter that lines the perimeter of my yard.
I know it looks odd right now in the photo with the slope where it is and the dirt path between the wall and sidewalk. The stones are set on the mow curbing that goes around the yard, and so rather than just bury it and bring it out, I'm going to (eventually) fill that area with decorative stone in a nice pattern that I got the inspiration from on Pinterest (the new 'black hole' of the internet) ;) Once that is done in a few years, since as it goes around the yard the space is Large, it will be awesome!! At least it is in my 'minds eye'.
I would have given 5 stars if there were cap stones to go with them, as well as the back edger wasn't missing from most of them. I just line them up carefully before putting the next level on, and am hopeful that by the time I'm finished with this, they'll come up with a capstone for it. I'll be writing to the company to strongly suggest it. Ya, we'll see how that goes. ;/

I bought about 100 of these last summer when they were on sale for .99. I ordered online and they loaded them for me. This time I again ordered them online. But I had to load them myself and most of them were broken and chipped. The customer service at the poplar bluff store leaves something to be desired. Everyone looked tired and grumpy, no one smiled, no one wanted to help me..and it was only 11am.

Finding blocks that aren't chipped may be burdensome, but the intact blocks hold up well. It's a good color and gives a good look. Being a smaller block allows for more flexibility in the design of the wall, which was nice. Get some while you can!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jack This product is ideal for DIY landscaping projects
Pavestone was very easy to install and brick color fit right in with my overall color scheme and feel. Project went a lot faster than I expected because the pavers lined up without a problem and created a clean and maintenance free presentation.

Questionable value for the price. Serious consideration should be given into looking at other product for your needs.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lauren A bit difficult to work with, but still a nice wall block.
We purchased over 460 of these blocks from 5 different home depot stores to complete a retaining wall approx. 3' high. The stones have a nice mixed color to them, a bit like a caramel tan and chocolate brown. They are light at 13lbs each so it's easy on your back when your bent over lifting them, as opposed to larger blocks which weigh up to 24lbs each. Our only problem, as with other reviewers, was that some stones are shorter than others when placed on their flat back. This causes a ripple effect in the wall which if not kept in check can cause the wall to look crooked or wavy. Another problem we encountered with these stones was that the rear alignment edge on the back was broken off on so many that we were only able to pick 70-90 stones from each home depot... And that's off pallets containing 240 stones. I wouldn't recommend buying a pallet and having them shipped sight unseen, because the loss from broken stones would likely be tremendous. Overall, we got a great looking wall

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bendorfold Perfect size for small areas and tight curves
Love this product. The smaller size makes it the perfect proportion to my long and narrow garden area. I made a curved retaining wall so I could finally open the garden gate at the other end of the yard. That wall transitions into a garden path and terrace for the steep area where the raised bed garden sits.
For those looking for a "cap stone", either the Pavestone handbook or the Pavestone website states that they don't make one "at this time" for this block.
Other reviewers who complained about them not being the same size, here's why and the fix. These blocks are cast two at a time then snapped in half, leaving that rough "face" we like. Just take one of those orange flat carts (solid metal surface, not the steel grate) and set all the blocks "face up" and you will easily see which blocks are too tall or too short. Just swap out those misfits and your wall will be evenly "stepped" as you build it.
