do these blocks need cement to keep them together?

It does not say if the blocks fit together and stay or are they cemented together. This applies to a double or triple layer of these blocks for a wall around a flower bed
Asked by: gail
These blocks are a dry-stack system which means that they do not need anything in between the stones. The lip on the bottom ensures that each layer steps back slightly and you should make sure that each layer is staggered over the one below so that the stones bridge the gap of the stones beneath it.

You can go with a Quikrete Natural look, Gloss, or Semi Gloss Sealer depending on the finished look you want.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Landscaping This was my first attempt at landscaping. Course I picked as my first attempt a circle around a tree. The hardest part was having to deal with the roots of the tree. The blocks were very easy to line up and level. I made a circle about 8' in diameter. It took me 2 days to complete. It took longer to cut the top pieces angles to fit than it did to lay the other blocks. The bending over to do the work wasn't easy on this 50+ body, but I'm happy with the finish look. Wife wants 6 more walls up. Arrrg Arrrg Arrrg. Check the blocks before purchasing as a few on the pallet have chips and cracks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from makes the back yard look great this makes any front or back yard look great. I honestly like the price 1.99 for this. If it can go lower even better. 2.48 is still okay but 1.99 is great price. If anyways is planning on getting a lot of blocks take advantage of the free shipping when you spend 249.00 and over. I didn't and I am upset with myself. I carried all of this home in my car and when I counted how much I had and the price was 2.48 also. I was well over 249.00 wayyyy over. so make sure how much you need first if its less then carry home yourself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product and Easy to use. Started a project on my Leave time home, in 2010 and it has been a continual project every time I have gotten an R & R since. Bought an older home, fixer upper, and needed some serious landscaping/retention walls to keep rain water channeled out to the front and not in my sub level garage. The blocks are easy to use and if you have even a minor knack for using a masonry saw you can craft just about any angle you need out of these. I've got some finishing touches to add (planters and fountain bases incorporated into the walls) once I get home from Afghanistan for good. Would like to see the cost a little lower... thank god for that Military Discount. Over 3000 blocks in these walls, now. Also, I recommend using a fastener like "Locktite" or "Liquid Nails" to secure your blocking. Make sure to set your #2 and #1 base sand correctly as well. Recommend a sealer after completion of your project. By the way, when working with these... Gloves... Gloves... Gloves! Unless you don't need your finger prints for any security clearance issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Appeal Purchased these for my front yard edging. My local home depot sold them for $2 I got about 90 for a double row look. It has a great front aesthetic looks like flagstone. Much more pretty that a plain front. Its also multi colored deep brown to pale tan. There is an additional topper which cost more than the brick, yet its half the size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Choice!! Just finished a circle around a tree with this stone, just beautiful! Decided to outline my landscape in the front with the same. What an impressive look! Very happy with the results. Add lighting, and Boom!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Different color than described The actual product was supposed to be "neutral" color but when I went to pick them up they were neutral with a LOT of dark brown swirl in them. Didn't match previous ones I had bought so now I won't be able to add height to my flower bed wall.
