Customer Questions & Answers

Can I get additional stones to add height to the fire pit?

Asked by: kramer
Buy the stones and the insert individually from the store. It's half the price of the "kit"!

What is the shipping weight?

Asked by: duke
A lot! It was ~990 pounds! They will deliver to your curb and you have to then move them in trips with a wheelbarrow.

does the metal cover (spark shield) come with the kit?

The information for what is included in the kit does not indicate whether the metal spark cover is included or not. If it is not included, we cannot locate where to purchase that item.
Asked by: homebody
yes, the spark cover DOES come with the insert and includes a handle to remove the cover when in use. 69.97 sold at Home Depot. Save over 200 dollars and purchase everything at home depot.

They do sell inserts, not sure about the "bowl" that comes with this kit.

RumbleStone 46 in. x 14 in. Round Concrete Fire Pit Kit No. 2 in Sierra Blend is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't spend over 500 dollars on this. I went to home depot, bought 60 traps and 60 minis (i wanted mine 5 layers high-children), 5 tubes of adhesive, and the insert. I spent less than 300 dollars! The staff helped load it too. 200 dollars saved will buy a lot of wood.

All stones and parts intact. I did not use a prepared base because the ground was sandy and the leveling was easy. Since this pit had four layers I used a tube of masonry cement between the first, second, and third course of stones. Used level and tape measure to keep level and round. I surrounded the pit with a circle of flagstones. I would have given five stars but the metal bowl arrived dented.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kit price inexplicable.... Do NOT buy the kit! I went into my local Home Depot and bought the insert and the stones for HALF what he kit costs. Quite literally, HALF! The associate I spoke to about that was just as amazed as I was. Having said that: my son and I did the entire installation from scratch in a couple of hours and it looks great. My "poor" mark in the "value" button is for buying the kit; just go in and buy the pieces separately.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice Fire Pit it but? I purchased the kit on line and picked up at my HD. Upon arriving home and assembling the pavestone fire ring I discovered the fire pit insert was damaged in shipping. So I returned it for a replacement. I looked at the rumble stone at my HD we well as fire pit insert and discovered I could purchase the pave stones and insert for less than half the price of the pave stone kit. So I returned the kit and bought the materials separately and built the fire pit. Pavestones are good quality and durable and make a very nice fire pit. The insert is like a large bowl that protects the pave stone from the heat and fire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Hit of the Party! My grandkids, ages 10, 8 and 6, put it together in about an hour. The big boy unloaded the truck and carried the blocks to the project site. The younger boy (a Lego expert) did the layout and placed all the heavy blocks. The little girl placed all the smaller bricks, and bossed the boys. It went together perfect on one try. On the 4th of July, about 100 people enjoyed roasting stuff after dark on what turned out to be a cool night. The firepit was the perfect centerpiece for the event. I'm thinking about getting more of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save money Fire pit is great! It took my husband & I 20 minutes to build it. However, save yourself lots of money & buy it individually, not as a "kit." Buy the rumblestone pavestone trap & mini bricks (12 of each for each level you want-36 total for 10" pit 48 for 14" pit) & 35" fire pit. I ordered it online for in-store pick up & they had it ready for me & helped load it. Spray rustoleum heat pain on it annually & rust won't be an issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Completely rusted in less than 60 days. It looks great, but the entire inside rusted out in less than 60 days!! for an investment of over $500 dollars, one would think they would send a rust-proof insert. It already looks like an old piece of junk, and I would be happy to send pics to the manufacturer and retailers, as to how they can rectify the situation.
