Can I use a different shower head with this? Is it a standard size?

Asked by: AKNP
Hello AKNP, The shower head connection is a standard 1/2" thread. This is common to the vast majority of shower heads available, so replacing the included head shouldn't be an issue. I would recommend being careful of purchasing an exceptionally wide head as the bend of the shower neck is rather drastic. I hope this helps. Cheers, Chris

My faucet is facing the opposite way from the faucet pictured. Will this work for me?

Can this be universal or do i have to have the exact same setup on the picture? I really wanna purchase this but, I don't want to be disappointed if i cannot face the facet and brackets in the opposite direction!

2-Handle Claw Foot Tub Faucet with Riser Showerhead and Shower Ring in Polished Chrome is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Got what I paid for, nothing more. Both of us are near 70 so my wife and I decided to get off our butts in the claw foot tub and install a shower. This unit was the right price for our test. Arrived on time and undamaged. Good start. I know how to run a power drill, use a level, and I could figure out how to do the install without the instructions - not provided. I was not a fan of the wall mount supports alone so I rigged two decorative, stainless chains to add support from the ceiling. The small plastic shower head was replaced too - nice Delta shower head with a detachable head to hose down the grand-kids. If you decide to upgrade the shower head, you will need a bushing to match the connection size of all new models. I attached some photos to help you understand my review.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its ok We recently bought this for our Claw foot tub. This does what its supposed to do, yet the products screws were to short, it didnt come with directions, but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to put it up. One we put the curtain up, the front portion started drooping, so now we have to figure out how to secure it up to the ceiling with making it still look good. The faucet isnt a standard size so we had to buy a bushing to make ours work. Over all it was ok for the price. Id like to have Home Depot sell the accessories like soap dish shower curtains. If you sell this product you should sell the things that you will need to finish the project at hand.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing The rods were poorly machined - I had to work the ends with some pliers, take the plastic inserts out and shave them down before they would fit together. The included shower head is the worst I have ever used so I'll need to find an adapter to fit the replacement head I bought. The curtain rod feels flimsy (I did use anchors and the flanges themselves are fine) and I had to add a ceiling support before I was comfortable with it. For the price, I was hoping for more. What I got was what I was expecting with the $80 kits I saw elsewhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product met our need for a shower in a tight space. The product was easy to install despite lack of directions. any handyman(woman) could figure it our easily. To fit the space I merely cut the long shower curtain rods to the required length. To fit the lower ceiling the shower head supply pipe had to be cut and rethreaded. cost me a couple of dollars at a local hardware store. No big deal. Shower head is not a standard size so you are stuck with the head that comes with the kit. The adapters on our old faucet allowed us to connect standard faucet piping. If necessary you can buy fittings at the hardware store to adapt. The rod could use an additional support at the corner that droops. I'll be adding one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems ok Haven't used it yet. We put it up but haven't used it yet. Seems ok after some slight modifications. Replaced some set screws with longer screws with some sheet metal screws to make make it more secure and had to shorten the rods to make it square with the faucet, but seems to work on.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's Okay.... First off it comes with absolutely no directions! Thankfully it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put it together but still, it would have been nice. It also didn't come with the fittings to connect the faucet properly so I had to run to Home Depot at 8 pm to grab those. I also suggest buying anchors for it because when it was first assembled we just drilled it directly into the drywall and it collapsed within two days so I had to go get anchors and redo that. FINALLY it has been up for a week and no more problems. It looks nice for the price but to save me several headaches I wish I would have just spent a little more money and got something more durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was an economical way to convert our antique bathroom from a 3/4 to full bath. Our claw foot tub is plumbed in the middle of the bathroom rather then the side where the tub meets the wall so this worked perfectly for us as many other units are designed affix to the wall behind the shower head. Unfortunately, the kit came without any instructions. This shower head is not suited for low water pressure, and tends to spray in a ring around my kids rather then on them. We did not discover until we purchased a replacement low pressure shower head that the shower head is not a standard size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken after 1 week of use The claw foot tub/shower combo arrived quickly, installed fairly easily and looked great. That was for about 6-8 days, then the spout would no longer send water through the showerhead rending the unit pretty much worthless. I will not be buying any plumbing items from this manufacturer again, that I can guarantee. Hopefully Home Depot will at least return my money for this poor quality item.
