Answer:
The depth is perfect for recessing in 2x4 walls. It will require framing a rough opening to accommodate if recessing. I installed in our existing bathroom and had to carefully cut through drywall and three 2x4's. I put lenghts of 2x4's as required horizontally between the lower cut studs and vertically in the sides of the opening. I didn't bother filling in the top cut studs. It looks great!

Answer:
Either return the entire unit to Home Depot, or save yourself the hassle and go to your local glass store and have them cut new ones for you - they can finish the edge of the shelves however you want so they are not sharp.

Can shelves be adjusted separately behind each door or does each shelf expand the entire width of the cabinet

I would like to be able to have one shelve behind one of the doors to be taller in order to accommodate a large bottle of Listerine. I do not want the taller shelf to expand the entire length of the cabinet.

Answer:
Each glass shelf is for only that section of the medicine cabinet; comes with 3 shelves per unit (a Tri-View has 9 shelves). The shelves are adjustable individually, but there are pre-drilled holes, so the adj is limited to those pre-set locations. I could only use 2 shelves per unit so that tall things would fit (e.g. mouthwash, hairspray, etc.).

Answer:
The shelf height and width is fixed at the factory....If you have tall bottles or spray cans you can leave out one of the shelves, but that is the only solution other than redrilling the holes for the shelf supports.

Can this be installed flush against a wall (as a recessed cabinet)?

I want to install this as a recessed cabinet against one side of a bathroom wall. Does the mirror have any overhang which would create a need for a filler space or can I install it up against the side wall? I do see the mirrors open inwards which is a good thing, but the install pdf sheet showed nothing about the cabinet against a wall. Thank you.

It needs a little bit of clearance. I'd say at least 1/8 inch to make sure the door clears whatever side wall it's close to

Answer:
The actual width of this unit is 48" to fit into a 47 3/8 rough opening. You would have to allow some room for the mirror to swing away from the cabinet, maybe 3/16" to1/4", otherwise it would bind when opening.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 93 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Medicine cabinet, just wish a little more flexibility in shelf location This is a really nice quality medicine cabinet. I can't believe how much storage you get from it. The doors are soft close and it is very sturdy. The only complaint I have is I would of liked a little more flexibility in the shelf locations. The second picture shows how it looks when I turn on the Armacost RGB LED lighting. Love that lighting! January 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Narcissists Dream!! Wow, this cabinet is a narcissists dream!!! Mirrors everywhere, including inside the cabinet doors and behind the shelves. This would be perfect for a bathroom shared by teens who fight over mirror space....there's no configuration of open or shut where you cannot see yourself no matter where you stand. The quality is excellent, and my husband said the installation (we recessed it) went smoothly. He thought surface mounting would have been more difficult. My biggest complaint is that the shelves are not adjustable, even though I believe the description says they are. So, my tallish bottle of hairspray does not fit inside. If there were some adjustments, I could easily solve that issue, but now I'm just aggravated by it. May 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Missing One Correct Shelf Clip , But Had 36 Wrong Clips Rust-proof, stylish, but heavy to hang, because it's mostly mirror and glass. Takes at least 2 people to install. Has much more than average storage space. December 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Customer Service Ever! I knocked it one point for quality because the shelves are not adjustable. But it is mirrored inside and out. I didn't think that would matter, but I can put lipstick on without opening and closing and opening and closing. Just a nice convenience. And I can't speak to the ease of installation - we had our handyman/jack of all trades install it for us. May 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best product ever... This product look nice. Easy to install. I like it April 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy Nothing like the pictures. I have another triview medicine cabinet bought awhile ago but this is not even close to equal the quality. From the pictures on Home Depot there are MANY pre-drilled holes for the shelves. This came with only where they thought the shelves should go - hence hair spray and toothbrushes don't fit. Also the middle hinge is on a different side and the doors don't soft close like they say. April 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pegasus 48" Three Door Mirrored Medicine Cabinet Aluminum Construction, no sharp edges, the interior panels were straight. The hinges look to be of very good quality to me. The three shelves in each section have no extra mounting holes to change the dimensions between shelves. Using a piece of aluminum I match drilled two sets of two mounting holes two inches apart in height and then used an awl to hold that pattern in position while drilling a new set of holes two inches higher for the top shelves. Those dimensions worked for me. If you can find the studs in your wall you will not have trouble surface mounting this cabinet. . March 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! Nice unit that has really helped organize our bathroom. The swinging doors provide excellent viewing angles for grooming. There are mirrors on the backs of all of the doors as well as inside the cabinets. I wish there were more holes for adjusting shelf heights. We left out one shelf in each cabinet. The two piece shelf clips are a little tricky but hold the shelves well. I expect there would be a way to secure an additional shelf but will leave that for later if needed. There is a plastic film over the mirrors as well as the chrome between the mirrors. The film over the chrome was cumbersome to remove but I finally found by using a hair dryer I was able to loosen it sufficiently. To avoid scratching the unit, I used a wooden paint stirrer I had handy to push the film from inside the cab to the face. Then starting the top, I was able to pull it downward from between the doors. Many people may not even notice that the chrome has some film. April 5, 2016
