What is the difference in color between the Pegasus 49" Granite Vanity Top Model #49888 in Midnight Black and Model #49684 in Black?

Are there better pictures I could look at to see the detail, because they look the same on the website.
Asked by: Lilly
They are very different in terms of graduals. The Midnight black is much more fine where as the other Black is larger. I recommend going to a local HomeDepot to see the difference. They typically have the samples on display. I am glad I did that prior to placing the order online because it would not have matched my absolute black granite floor tile.

custom size availability

I purchased this top with backsplash and also 2 sidesplashes. I'd like to use the same material as a top for a short wall in the same room. I can have them cut to the size I need, unless they can be done by the supplier. Ideally, I need a piece 19.5" long & 7 1/4" wide, finished on the top, two long sides, and one end. Is this possible, and what would be the cost?? Also another piece that is a bit wider - 8.5" x 19.5", finished on one side and one end. These could probably be cut from damaged merchandise or offall, and should be a bit cheaper per s.f., right??
Asked by: Chesapa
After speaking to the folks at my local store, the real answer would seem to be to find a local marble & granite _fabricator_ (not supplier) in your area, then ask if they have remnants of "Absolute Black" , which is the actual color name (not Midnight Black). Then get a price to fabricate the size you need from their remnants. The suppliers normally only sell entire slabs of material, which you don't need unless you want to pave your back yard!! No need to ask a store person. HD will only add markup to the price and delivery to the store. If you want to pay for the convenience, go that way.

This black vanity top in Midnight black varies from the one that is just called "black" in that it is a solid black. The "black" top which is almost a hundred dollars less has small consistent variations of light and dark black throughout which are not noticeable from a short distance.

Most of the work was removing the original vanity top. I've been using this vanity for a month or so now and it has been easy to clean. The Vanity top is heavy so I had to have another person help me lift to put it in place.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Attractive but durability question My year old black granite top and white bowl looks great and is easy to clean. My only complaint is when I dropped a travel size 1 and 1/2 oz hair spray can from the medicine cabinet into the bowl. It took out a rather large chunk of the bowl, and that led to many crack lines. I just feel that the bowl is very fragile compared to other sinks and tubs I've used over the years. Be careful. Cost to replace plus shipping was reasonable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised I purchased this for my downstairs 1/2 bath. The redo in the bathroom is now complete with this vanity top. The price was very reasonable for the quality. I purchased a rather expensive faucet to go with it, which looks fantastic. The only caution I have is that the sink is quite deep.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautiful finished product but terrible time matching!!! We are now happy with our granite vanity top but it took a lot of work to get to the happy point. We wanted to put a side splash on it to match (which they sell in the stores to match). After installing it, the side and back splashed didn't match where they butted up in the corner, they were off by a 1/8th of an inch which looked terrible. We went to the Redmond Home depot and the nice young man there let us open the box of a new one to see if the back splash was the same height, it wasn't and it was in terrible condition. We were disappointed and decided to go to the Issaquah Home Depot to check on the new one there. It was up on the top shelf so we decided to see if they might have a side splash instead. Low and behold we found one, matched it up and it was a perfect fit. After so much hassle we are happy but we are very stubborn and wanted it to work. Buyer beware however if you end up having this issue please be aware they do not cut the granite the same to match everytime, they need to do a better job of making sure every piece is cut exact, bad quality control. Oh and I forgot to mention we went to the Bothell Home depot earlier in the day to see what our options were and they didn't have a vanity top to compare to so it took 3 trips to 3 different home depots to get it figured out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautful I can't really comment on the ease of installation, I had my contractor install it- but heard no complaints from him. I think it is a really nice looking feature, priced affordably and anticipate it will increase my home's resale value. I am installing a side and backsplash of coordinating tile for added appeal.
