Answer:
Your water has a high acid content. Copper is a natural product and this can happen. You can buy a antiquing solution to bring back the color

Sounds like you put something with a high acid content in the sink like tomato or lemon can cause this if it sits on it to long. It will patina back in time or you could buy an antiquing solution

You put something with a high acid content on the sink. Copper will do this. You can put a antiquing solution on it to bring it back to the color you want.

Many copper sinks have no holes drilled for faucets. So, they're fine for an under-mount. If you eed a top mount, you have to locate someone who is qualified to drill a hole and has a reputation for quality work. Finding such a person was the problem I had with a copper sink and I ultimately had to return it.
Good luck! Natural copper sinks are beautiful and very functional. Read Less

Answer:
Hi,
You traditionally would not top mount a kitchen sink or a copper sink because of the weight of the sink. You can however do a drop in or an under mount. If you scroll down to the overview of the product, off to the right is the installation guide for both mounts.
For additional questions please call 336-272-3003.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing I was excited when I purchased this sink. I like a rustic look and was prepared for the color variation of copper during the patina process but not at all prepared for the consistent spotting. The patina process looks natural, the spotting looks very sloppy. I have never used anything abrasive, always wipe out after use, never leave anything sitting in sink, and have good quality water. The side that is not used is fine (some spotting) so if you don't need to use it you are okay. It is undermount under a granite countertop so I am stuck. I would purchase a hammered pattern if I ever bought again. Just want you to beware. I have done everything recommended. February 19, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DON'T BUY THIS SINK! Like others I experienced spotting within one week of use. I have two other copper sinks in my house. I know how to care for them and they remain beautiful. I wished I had read the reviews before purchasing. Customer rep says don't put hot pans in the sink. Don't leave anything in the sink over two hours. It will look better in a year, Really!! Buyer Beware on this product. February 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't Buy This Sink! This was the review I wrote in 2012 -- I still live overseas and come home every summer. I'm still waiting for the beautiful patina to arrive -- what a disappointment ... once again suggestions about cleaning -- wouldn't buy it again We had the sink installed in July 2011 - we used it for two weeks before we went back overseas. We came home in June 2012 for 6 weeks - this sink is used only in the summers - we have been waiting for the beautiful patina to arrive for 2 years - we now have green spots and a few red spots -- the sink is a disappointment - 2 years has gone by and it is still ugly and spotty -- any suggestions about cleaning it would help -- we have followed the cleaning instructions -- I wouldn't buy it again. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor patina i was excited about the product until i discovered that the so called "patina" would be so ugly! this sink is a huge disappointment to me (even thought i thought it would look beautiful in my log home kitchen) . everything you rinse into the sink leaves a "mark" or "stain" that looks terrible. my first day with the new sink, and i had spots and bright splotches just from rinsing my dishes !! and forget about letting a pan or dish soak - every little thing that touches the sink leaves a mark. this is a very "delicate" sink. i would love to return it for a more practical & usable sink & i've only had it 2 months. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by very disappointing I purchased this copper sink a year ago when we remodeled our kitchen. I thought it was a beautiful sink when it was new, but it has a very spotty finish now. I read the info on the sink, and it said to be patient because it can take up to a year for the patina to establish. That year has gone by and the finish is still very ugly and spotty. Acidic foods like vinegar or tomato sauce discolors the finish. Even just a glass in the sink will leave a ring. I regret buying this sink. I now wish I had purchased a stainless steel sink. This copper sink detracts from my new kitchen. May 26, 2010
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by New Sink...Hmmm Ok, my verdict is not yet in, on this one. It has only been installed about a week and a half. I am having spots form from just the Dawn dish soap. But having just read the Cleaning and care instructions, that explains that it will darken while it forms an antibacterial Patina over time,(typically a year) stating that it would end up with a somewhat darker, beautiful antique brown finish....I guess I will have to wait and see. If it is an even spotty type Patina I think I will like it. Bottom line is it is under mount and under granite, so I am stuck with it now. I guess I will look at it in a positive way and hope it ages gracefully. Glad to read some of you like it. I wish I new how long it has been installed in your two kitchens? June 17, 2009

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Problem with stains and installation While I love copper and realize the patina and character, I am hugely disappointed in the product so far (3 months). Every thing seems to stain and very quickly.....Dawn detergent, water marks, and tomato sauce (in less that 5 minutes just rinsing the dishes). I am faithful about drying the sink after each use but it does not seem to help. It appears discolored vs. rich patina. The company installing the granite had a terrible time with the flanged edge of the the sink working with the hardware. October 6, 2009
