I was excited when I purchased this sink. I like a rustic look and was prepared for the color variation of copper during the patina process but not at all prepared for the consistent spotting. The patina process looks natural, the spotting looks very sloppy. I have never used anything abrasive, always wipe out after use, never leave anything sitting in sink, and have good quality water. The side that is not used is fine (some spotting) so if you don't need to use it you are okay. It is undermount under a granite countertop so I am stuck. I would purchase a hammered pattern if I ever bought again. Just want you to beware. I have done everything recommended.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LuLu DON'T BUY THIS SINK!
Like others I experienced spotting within one week of use. I have two other copper sinks in my house. I know how to care for them and they remain beautiful. I wished I had read the reviews before purchasing. Customer rep says don't put hot pans in the sink. Don't leave anything in the sink over two hours. It will look better in a year, Really!! Buyer Beware on this product.

The sink was beautiful when it was initially installed. It may be possible that we have received one of the sinks that wasn't properly finished??? We waited patiently for the beautiful patina to arrive (2 years). However, the sink is spotty, the drain flange has a white residue, and at times we have green spots! I am freightened to learn how much it would cost to have it replaced as our counter-top is granite??? I wonder if it is even possible. All I can say is buyer beware!

Beautiful in the box but not user friendly!
The product finish has had problems from the first week.
I would not recommend this sink!

Overall this sink is a good value. As far as trimming the flange goes it is pretty straight forward, and the manufacturer states that it will not void the warranty. Initially we were concerned with the polished rings that were left behind if dishes were left in the sink. However the sink is now getting a uniform patina that seems to be staying on. We have had the sink for 6 months. It looks amazing under mounted with our Crema Bordeaux granite. I only give this product 4 stars due to the fact that it is not made clear up front that the sink will patina in this fashion, it is assumed that the sink will maintain a similar finish to the factory finish. It is very alarming when the sink first starts to patina as it is not what was expected, however after a few months it starts to even out and at 6 months we are very pleased.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tsmut Not happy with every little thing making a spot, will it ever get the even patina???!!!
I read the reviews on this sink before I purchased and debated a good while before I decided to go ahead and purchase. I do like the copper with my country style kitchen, however it spotted before we even got the faucet installed and the water running! My Husband was installing the dish soap dispencer and squirted dish soap on the sink...well it will not take indiluted dish soap without causing a shiny spot. I have had my sink almost 3 months now, and everytime the spots are about to go away, something else makes a spot. I knew it was going to spot, but gee I can't seem to ever get the nice patinta going for all the new places that happen! I am even careful with things like vinegar, tomato sauce, etc. My Husband put some big time spots in the bottom with Metamucil. Now the sink seems to be spotting if I leave pans in it to dry after washing. I wipe it down, green wipes off. Seems to be getting a green corrosion at the back where it under mounts to the counter top. When this sink was purchaed we should have looked it over closer. The counter top installers were here and we found the sink was dented in on the side. We had no choice but to fix that problem ourselves, which turned out good...but could have been a problem or else a big delay in waiting for another sink to be shipped. When my Husband installed the new faucet, he found the flange is still too big, even though I had read on one of the reviews that this problem has been taken care of by the maker. He was able to get the faucet on, but had a great deal of trouble doing so. Bottom line....would I buy this sink again, if I had to do over. Probably not !

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dana Love the sink but both were dented
Love the sink but arrived to me twice dented. Inspect it upon arrival! Must be a manufacture flaw? I had to keep the second one I ordered due to time stipulations with granite contractor. The dents were in the same place with both. Also check your billing. I had to fight for a discount on my damaged product then was billed twice.

If you are a neatnik whose sink has to be pristine, then this is not the sink for you. After reading the reviews and seeing some of the complaints, we took the plunge and purchased it for our kitchen remodel anyway and we were not disappointed. We've been using it for two weeks now and it really compliments the colors we have chosen for our kitchen; however, it does spot when water is left on it and the manufacturers finish is wearing off unevenly -- but it doesn't look any different than a similar stainless sink would. We can already see the patina starting to develop in some places and we know it's just a matter of time before it evens out. In the mean time, the only adjustments we have made are that we do not leave acidic products sitting in the sink. Otherwise we do not baby it. It occurs to us that the patina will build more quickly if the sink is used and not pampered. :) (I can't see the pioneers manically cleaning and polishing their sinks every night!) One more point to note... the Home Depot store near us had a demo model of this sink stating it was a 16 gauge (which is thinner than recommended by most DIY sites); however, the sink is actually 14 gauge which is perfect. I'm not sure if it mentions that on the website or not.
