Does the handle stick out away from the cover plate?

In the picture, it looks the the square base for the handle does not meet up with the wall plate, leaving what seems like would be an unsightly and difficult to keep clean gap. One reviewer noted that he set the valve deeper into the wall, I think to avoid this situation??

Hey Pamper, your assessment is correct. For me, the square base looked "wrong". So I mounted the valve "deeper" into the wall to get the look I wanted, You have to be carefull not to mount the valve too far into the wall, so that the square base won't rub on the escutcheon plate. I went with 1/2" and it looked pretty good. Other than that, this has proved to be a nice faucet.

Thank you for your question. The whole handle assembly including the seat rotates so the handle needs to be offset from the plate.

Hi!

We are interested in replacing the shower set-up in our older manufactured home with this one ... our concern is what valve is included with this set. Is there a number or picture of the valve so that we can compare it?

Thanks!

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Both of these models use the same rough in Valve so you don't have to change that out to switch the trim.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product looked great with my renovation This product was a great fit for my new bathroom. I adore the square features which isn't quite as common as other bath fixtures. Installation was efficient and fairly simple (for a single lady with no assistance), but there were some small hiccups with the tub spout attachment and fitting the pipes in the wall, but once those were resolved it looks great. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Favorite shower mixer The product satisfied my needs, a perfect mixer with special features. The minimum pressure of 20 psi and maximum pressure of 40 psi meet my requirements. November 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rather bulky look I agree with a few previous reviews. This assembly seems rather bulky looking when installed. Probably would look ok in a larger shower. Also was rather disappointed with the water pressure. I have all new copper pipes & good pressure everywhere else, so I'm pretty sure it's not due to the water source. May 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this shower/tub faucet! This product is so much nicer in person compared to online. It looks sophisticated and high end. The square shape makes it seem like I paid a lot more than I actually did. The shower head itself is plastic while everything else is a heavy metal. This doesn't bother me as pretty much all the shower heads in store are plastic also (except for maybe the $300 ones). I can't comment on instillation as my contractor is handling that but I'm not expecting any problems. If you're looking for something different and sophisticated, this one's for you. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good performing shower head. I'm very happy with this faucet...looks and function. The shower head has a really nice spray pattern. My only issue is with the installation. I mounted the valve assembly 1/2" deeper than specified. If mounted according to instructions, the handle protrudes excessively away from the escutcheon plate, showing an abnormal gap and mounting screws. I always check the mounting of the valve assembly with a scrap piece of wood constructed to the thickness of the finished wall. I attach the wood to the wall, covering the valve assembly, and the trim to the wood. This shows me exactly how the trim will look on the finished wall. It's a lot of extra effort, but experience has taught me not to trust manufacturers instructions and specs! January 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value and Great Quality I searched everywhere for a shower fixture that did not cost over $100 that was Brushed Nickel. Everywhere I looked they were running $120-$300 and were plain fixtures. Then I came across this Brand ( Pegasus) when I was looking for a toilet paper holder (which is so nice and only $6.95). I purchased this shower fixture ($67.00), the matching toilet paper holder ($6.95) and the matching soap holder ($7.95) all for under $90.00 what a great value and the quality is more than I expected! My bathroom looks like I spent $1000's. Gives it a high in look!!! April 17, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Go with a brand name The construction quality is decent, however, the features are not there. Instead of just the small handle moving the entire piece turns. The temperature/pressure balancing is cumbersome. The handle is fastened by one allen nut which doesnt want to stay tight unless you use loctite on it. The installation instructions are poor. After returning this product I found other people on the internet having problems finding parts for this set. September 6, 2011
