Customer Questions & Answers

How that this product works, do I need to change filters, how longs does it last? .Is this an actual water softener or just a water conditioner?

Asked by: epmaciel
I bought the system that has the water filter and the water softener. I bought it to keep my shower heads from clogging up with hard water. It doesnt work for that !! I still have to clean & unclogg my 2 shower heads in the house every 2 months.

What is actually in the tank? Is it charcoal, filter media, chemical, or other?

Asked by: Curious
I'm in water treatment and have sold several of these. 95% of the Customers that purchased them were dissatisfied and ultimately replaced it with a traditional softener.. It absolutely will descale plumbing, and keep plumbing clear. Using the water is the same as before treatment, except for the dishwasher - basically unusable... If your hardness is no more than moderate and you handwash dishes this may be acceptable for you.

does it whiten your laundry and make water hotter and save water in home

Asked by: tony
Not sure about the laundry, but it won't make water hotter but will increase the life of your hot water heater and furnace, just remember to open the drain periodically and check for any buildup.

Los Angeles County, CA banned water softeners. Is this salt-free system exempt from ban?

Asked by: wininchatsworth
Yes I think so because this system is salt-free & doesn't use extra water like the salted systems. beware, It did not work 100% for me though.... find my review & decide for yourself

10 GPM Whole House NaturSoft Salt-Free Water Softener System is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything turned out Amazing! We love this product. I was at first hesitant due to the one negative review. Clearly that person didn't read the detailed explanation offered by the manufacturer. I was concerned about spotting, but we use the Lemishine that was included in the pack and we have none. We wanted to keep the healthy minerals in our water as we have kids, so this was a primary driver for us. The water tastes great and best of all doesn't stick like scale any longer. We couldn't be happier. My only regret is that I didn't buy the accompanying carbon filter up front. We bought that later and now we're totally happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice system First, this is not the cheapest rescaled-softener out there, but ,I did my homework and shopped around including quotes from Home Depots Rainsoft contractor. For my NJ home where our city water hardness is off the chart, it was the right system for me. It arrived in less than 2 days. And I was able to install it myself. Im in no way a plumb r but I consider myself to have a better than average ability when it comes to home projects. After reading the instructions a few times and back to hd to buy the install kit it took about an hour to move the supply lines and hook everything up without leaks. BTW the install kit is simple screw on and push-to-connect. Thus far the system works great. I bought replacement filters that are less expensive for 4 than others out there priced for 1. That was a nice surprise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Alternative To Salt and Slimy Water I had a salt water softener from a local company for years and the biggest issue I had was the slimy feeling I got from the water. The reason I wanted a softener in the first place was my tankless heater kept failing on 30 grains of hardness with city water. Manufacturer of the tankless told us they couldn't cover the coil due to scale. I did my research and found this system. The concept was great: No salt, no backwash and protection against scale. After a year installed I am more than happy. Tankless heater is running like a champ without issues and I don't have that slimy feeling in the water anymore. The only trade off was the water spots now on glass and fixtures but I can live with that now that I don't have to deal with the salt or the feeling the salt system left in the water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more Mr.Slime Guy Finally, an alternative to salt softeners. I hated, hated, hated feeling SLIMY everytime I got out of the shower. I never felt like I got the soap completely off, plus all the salt does is mask the hardness, it doesn't eliminate it! With this Pelican unit, I don't have the slimy feeling, the hardness is actually removed and I don't have to buy salt pellets, store them and lug them around anymore. FREEDOM!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install / use This system is very easy to install, there is no wiring and no additional plumbing required for the drain. My is outside where the city water comes in, all I had to do is cut the line, plumb in the sediment filter and then the main tank. Another great feature that I like, there is no salt to replace or flush, hence no need for a drain. In my install I would need to run plumbing another 30 feet to get to a drain as my codes do not allow for the discharge to be out on the ground, not sure why or if the salt systems would kill the grass. What I really liked was not having to run electricity out to the site for the timer to flush the system and waste more water. This is also a beautiful shiny stainless steel tank that looks like it will last forever.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from RUN AWAY! Installed unit 2 years ago. Huge waste of your hard earned dollars. Had my water tested for hardness before and after installation, zero difference. After 1 year of use had to change my electric hot water heater element due to lime build up. Still have lime build up on shower heads and faucets. Changing the filter is easy not sure what the "filter" is designed to do, If I wanted a whole house filter I would have purchased one and saved some serious coin. I tried leaving a review on Pelican website and they will not post it, that alone should tell ya something. Your money is better spent on Lotto...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from "Saltless" Softeners Do Not Work Bought the saltless system thinking it is the latest and the best. It does not work as it is claimed. I have before and after digital hardness meters. Incoming water is about 350ppm, after is 290ppm. I also have a carbon filter as well. It looks pretty in the utility room, though. The technical support constantly told me that it will get better and the hard water I am getting from the faucets are just becasue softened water is dissolving accumulated scale. One dishwasher is wasted already and going through the second one. I am going to get rid of it. Also, it is disproportionally expensive. Stay away!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This softener met our needs and made life easier since we don't have to constantly refill salt pellets like our old softener. Be sure to read the instructions and change any inline filters to appliances (fridge, etc) and flush water heater.
