How deep is this pot ?

Asked by: dee
It's around 20" from ground to top of pot, and 16" from ground to bottom of rim at top. I do have the 16" saucer under mine so that adds a bit to the measurements

Is this pot glazed? Is it 100% terra cotta clay, and non toxic (safe for growing food in)?

Asked by: sp11
They don't appear to be glazed to me. They came with no description or label on them other than UPC label. Manufacturer would have to provide a definitive answer, but I noted website stated that the item 'may vary' so it's possible that not all that HD sells would be from same supplier.

22 in. Terra Cotta Heavy Rimmed Clay Pot is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 22 in. Heavy rimmed Terra Cotta Pot I selected this pot for its attractiveness and because I needed it for a large cactus. The thick clay walls keep the cactus roots from getting too hot or too cold. The smooth dense terra cotta wears well in all kinds of weather. I have had this pot in freeze thaw conditions for the past ten years and it still looks terrific.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great value and product I bought a dozen of these, with saucers, to plant arecas that line the driveway. They look great, and the clay helps hold moisture which the plants love. I plan to get some more for blooming flowers and herbs. Excellent value. Cheap plastic and resin pots of this size cost more, yet aren't as durable and attractive IMO. They ARE heavy to move around, though - I used a plant coaster that I had to make things easier on myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actual Terra Cotta Typically a pot at this size and price, advertised as "terracotta", is typically talking about the color, and then you get a big plastic pot. This is the actual material. I was able to use 2 of them, and a couple grill grates, and create a huge bbq smoker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from large pot for small price Terra cotta of this pot has a nice finish. Haven't had it for very long, but it's price was EXCELLENT compared to terra cotta pots of comparable size I've seen at nurseries.
